Producing music for over 50 years, Making classic albums for his friend Bob Marley & the Wailers working with The Beastie Boys, Lee "Scratch" Perry -(known as the Godfather of Dub music)
is credited as using one of the first samples in a song. So to put it bluntly, Hip-Hop and rock would not sound the same without him.
A pioneer and visionary Producing The Slits, inspiring Jay-Z's "Lucifer" (produced by Kanye) which sampled Max Romeo's "Chase the Devil (written & prod. by Lee "Scratch" Perry) having a GTA radio station - the legendary Jamaican served as musical muse to The Prodigy aswell as The Clash with Junior Murvin's ‘Police & Theives’ (written & produced by @lee_scratch_perry) as well as inspiring the cover by your's truly from the album 'Nephilim' featuring The Bones Youth Choir (@1984records)
