Guys....GUYS! My #ripplecroptop dress is complete, and oh so good! . . I knit it in deadstock wool silk, which is fantastically drapey and comfortable for warm weather (as well as cold) - and generally well suited to this pattern IMO. . The drape ended up being a bit of a wild card, as every inch adds so much weight that - even with swatching and planning - blocking left the armholes swinging closer to my belly button than my armpit . . . I knew this was a possibility so blocked before picking up for the sleeves, then picked up only every second stitch (72sts total) for the sleeves to pull that armhole back into a reasonably oversized one. . I sized up to a large to give lots of room in the hips (I’m not a super fan of body con dresses for myself) and knew I’d enjoy a more relaxed shape overall; and knit the first 20” on size 5 needles. Then I switched to size 4s and knit the pattern as written: 8.5” to underarm split, work back and fronts, pick up sleeves (mod as mentioned). . . I love it with this vintage Dior belt I’ve had since high school - which is very nearly too fancy for me with its gold plated waves. . As usual @jessssiemae ‘s pattern made this whole thing possible. Well designed and simple - I see myself making them again and again without feeling like my wardrobe is repeating itself. . . MAKEUP INVENTORY - 6 eyeliners, 2 mascaras, 3 brow products and 2 eyeshadow primers I'm really happy about where I'm at with my mascaras and eyeshadow primers. They're all really good and the right amount for me! When it comes to eyeliner and brow products, however, not so much. I rarely use eyeliner and still feel like I have too many. I would be happy with half the amount. The brow products are mostly okay, but I'm still looking for the "perfect" brow products for me. ️ use it up ️ I'm ripping along on my current goal of reverse-Rouging twice (using up >$2000 of product) this year. I think going for a third round (>$3000) might be too much of a stretch, but I'm halfway there and we're halfway through the year so it might be possible . Basically, I track makeup empties in one sheet, and then skincare/haircare/everything else in another... I go through haircare pretty slowly, so it's not worth the trouble to break it out separately. And I only record the cost of retail empties, so using up samples and promos doesn't count in my totals.
