ALPHABET SOUP || . . On a hot summers day a simple water play invitation is always a winner! We didn’t use our baby bath for long and I couldn’t bare to throw it out so re using it for sensory play has been fantastic. . . This was an activity that both my little ones could explore and enjoy together! When you have different ages in the house some times it can be a little difficult to cater for both ages, so keeping an invitation simple can make it easier. . . Foam letters, strainer and contact paper is all you need for this fun water play activity. I traced around each foam letter using a #sharpiemarker on the contact paper and stuck it to our wall. We did this one a little while back when Elliot was so itty bitty, but each time Oli fished for a letter he then searched for the matching letter on the wall and stuck on it.

Sponge play! I filled the smaller tubs of our Flisat table with water and a dash of dishwashing liquid, I dyed one pink and one blue because we love a bit of colour mixing! I then added chunks of sponge to soak it all up! I used giant sponges that I cut up into pieces that would be small enough for the boys hands to grab and squeeze but big enough that they’d need to use their whole hand or even two hands! I gave the boys our citrus juicers and some bottles and cups for filling. Squeezing the sponges with their hands is a great hand workout, Theo in particular was obsessed with squeezing the sponges to fill up a cup then pouring the water from that cup into another bottle, over and over again!! Using the citrus juicer was an even bigger workout, not only working out their hands but their arms as they filled the juicer with lots of sponges and needed to use more force to squeeze all the water and bubbles out. The boys could have played with this set up all afternoon, It seriously kept them busy for over 2hours with no fighting at all!!! Once they were done we shifted everything into the shower and the continued their play in there!! DINO EGGS This activity may not look that appealing, but it’s even drawn her grown cousins in and my 3 year old is in heaven!! Again, another simple setup! Put dinos in a ballon, fill with water, tie, freeze. Done! I added food coloring to the water for an extra and salt for defrosting the animals a bit quicker. My good friend Bea @_simply_bea_ Is helping to guest host V week over at #letsplayatoz_v so we thought we would join in with some V is for VEHICLES themed play! . . I got this milk bottle car wash idea from the fabulous @themakermum . I put my own spin on it by adding the cardboard box for the cars to drive in and out of and our fave @waytoplaytoys rubber roads. you can head over to Rachel's feed to see how to make one for yourself. . . Obviously being cardboard and adding water meant it didnt hold up too long... Did we care? Nup. Did it cost me anything? Nup. Was it worth it? Sure was! . . I added some muddy oobleck on our tuff tray for the cars to get dirty in before going through the car wash and the boys got a good hour and a half out of it before it started to get too soggy and collapse. Im already under strict instructions to make another one next time I have a box to use . . Thanks Rach for showing us some different ways we can use the toys we already have You rock!

BEST IDEA EVER KATY @prekwolfpack! . “Clean the ocean” is officially the cutest water/ocean/sensory/environmental/open-ended/STEM project ever and is one of the projects that we will be doing all of the time for all of time.
