I’m asked all the time if my intention is to paint landscapes... but really...my intention is to create abstract spaces. Sometimes the work ends up more defined while others remain more ethereal. I consider my self an explorer of these imagined places. This was years in the making. I started working on this wooden panel back in 2012. I painted white, blues in encaustic paint and scratched away. Put it away for 5 years and then made a little more progress but this time with oil paint and alcohol ink on top of the encaustic. Then I forgot about it for the last few years. Over the last few days the remaining details have been painted with oil pastels and fused in. More scratching.
