Sustaining our travels would not be possible without the love and support of our friends and family scattered across this beautiful country of ours. From the last minute driveway one-nighters to the week long lay overs, the generosity and selfless hospitality offered to us by others is always so incredibly humbling... - Pulling into a familiar driveway, seeing faces we’ve missed for months, and spending time with those we love is a feeling that is hard to match when we are tired, road weary, and even a little homesick. These are some of our most cherished moments while out on the road, even if all’s we do is hang out in the driveway or inside on the couch and just play catch up on the recent happenings in each of our lives... - We recently spent a few weeks living and traveling with a few friends (both old and new) up in Oregon, and the hospitality we received out there literally brought us to tears when the time finally came to point our compass back East towards NY... - New experiences are only as good as the people we get to share them with ... And the memories we made together out in the PNW this Fall are some of the most beautiful that we have yet to collect since being on the road... - So thank you to all those who make this wild ride possible (you know who you are!) and we absolutely can not wait until our paths cross again... Hopefully sooner rather than later! - Here is a shot of our little family camped out on @pigryder and @the_pennsylgonian’s property in the PNW. Seriously can’t thank these two enough for sharing their lovely home with us and for all the late nights, laughs, and epic caravans we had together. Miss y’all already!

I know it’s silly, but every time we get somewhere successfully (no matter how close) it feels like a little victory. I have my long list of repairs to do in time, and with more experience and regular maintenance comes (somewhat) more reliability. Looking for camp has become a daily routine. - “Where are we gonna sleep tonight” has become as typical a question as “whaddya want for dinner.” We drive down a dirt road every night, looking for some quiet spot where we can park and rest our heads. Sometimes we find the perfect camp spot on the first try. Sometimes we drive miles down a promising forest service trail only to find that it’s flooded out, as it was the night this photo was taken. - It’s a roll of the dice, and we toss it every night. Though it can be frustrating, though sometimes we strike out, we take the consequences as they come. It’s part of the draw of this whole moving-round lifestyle, the unexpected, the unknown, the constant game of guessing. - This evening we ask it again. “Where are we gonna sleep tonight?”
