They say that pain is a messenger>>> in this way of thought, my inbox has been overflowing with messages from my body, spirit + ancestors these last months. I’m still recovering with fatigue from relentless pain on pain on pain as well as a teething babe who is keeping us up a lot more of late with comfort night feeds. To care for our girl I’ve had to heartbreakingly push through the pain of cracked wounds in my nipples, through the itch of healing shingles, the nerve pain in my arms, hands, shoulders, knees, so bad some days I could barely walk let alone hold Millie (this is an old photo!), a partial bowel obstruction whose pain is all too familiar + triggering and cramps from a moon that still hasn’t come. So I checked out of IG for a while. What little space I had in my day to show up here has been consumed with complete + necessary rest if I’m to recover while on immune-suppressant drugs. But this is not a pity party or asking for advice, just an update on where we’re at. We’ve got this. Between my acupuncturist, bodyworker + counsellor (only possible thanks to all of your generous gofundme donations!) we are not only easing my symptoms + pain but also getting to the root cause of this inflammation, shifting trauma that goes beyond my lifetime + shifting blockages in my body that were handed down in my DNA. It’s deeeeeeeeeep. It goes deep. And one day I look forward to sharing more of what we’re uncovering because there’s a good chance you or someone you know is going through it too. Friends of the human variety + plant variety (St johns wort, Milky Oats + Lemon balm mostly) are aiding my shingles recovery + calming nerves, and they also helped raise me out of the depressive “I can’t cope phase” that resurfaced with pure physical + emotional exhaustion a couple of weeks ago. So, I consulted the IChing about the health of my relationship with instagram + this community after wanting to post many times but having no energy to do so, and I got back >>> Going out and coming in without error. Friends come without blame. To and fro goes the way. >>> A very clear message, no? Drop out, ground in, REST, when you need friends. Your wellbeing is priority.
