Recently I met this woman in the plane to Atlanta. She was my age, 38, 8 kids! Wow pure mama goddess! Russian.Sweet woman. Natalia. I also had a manicure and met Ming, super nice Chinese women that have been working 12 years at the airport when I missed my flight to Jamaica, she lives in Queens. I also had a wax in my neighborhood with this lovely Indian women from Gujarat. In Mexico City a little boy came to ask me for money, instead of ignoring him, telling him to go away or giving him money, I asked him his name. I also asked him if he was hungry and fed him while he told me a little bit more about himself. He was 10 just like my son, working the streets at 2am by himself. Broke my heart. Then there was the little boy selling flowers in Sayulita, sweet eyes, funniest kid ever! he was also hungry, so I invited him to sit down and eat with us. I'm making it an effort to notice the people around me more. Not my friends and family and those who I know. But the people in the service industry, the people that sit next to me in planes and trains, stand in line at the coffee shop or ride the elevator with me. The people we take for granted. The people that we don't see, that become invisible. Instead of being glued to my phone everytime I wait and completely ignoring the world happening around me I'm making a more conscious effort to connect. Saying hello, acknowledging them, asking their names and about their day. I feel a giant call to go back to our humanity and our purpose which is to connect!! Consciously choosing to be present is a practice, it is why we practice yoga! And it is not easy. The easy is to walk around from in zombie mode completely consumed by our world and the constant distraction of our screens. But I feel that rather than stepping away from our reality constantly I want to step in it deeper. I say to my students that before smartphones we had it easier, we only had to deal with our monkey mind to stay present! Now we have this easy giant distraction from our lives. But the more and more disconnected we become the more lonely we are, the more isolated, the more depressed, and we lose our true purpose and our humanity. Wearing @gaiam

Today it's been 6 months seens I've met YOGA! I'm thankfull to karma, fate whatever you believe! I'm thankfull every people, every little situation, every sad story! I'm thankfull especially to my family to give me what I need most and make me strong and fearless person towards life and Asanas Thanks to my body, my health, my soul and me for Who I'm today! We rarely post pictures of the poses that we practice the most. Basic poses. Poses that lay foundation for everything else that follows. I absolutely love Warrior III. I practice it nearly every single time that I step on the mat. Even though it might look easy, it requires a lot of coordination and balance, it strengthens all of the back body and it’s a great stretch for the standing leg.
