Hi friends! Welcome! Many of you already know me but since I’ve gotten some new faces in here I figured I’d would be nice to reintroduce myself! ‍♀️ So hi! My name is Christina and I’m super glad you are here!!! I’m looking forward to sharing my journey as a traveler and as a yogi with you because I firmly believe that we are all in this amazing planet to learn and grow together✨✨✨ So a little about me! ‍♀️ My main interest in travel are: beaches, islands, jungles, and small mountain towns in the middle of nowhere. My main interests in yoga are: fun flows and the exploration of fluid movement, inversions and arm balances, energy (chakras and reiki), and meditation. ‍♀️‍♀️‍♂️ I also really love animals I’m a dog mom to a gorgeous westie named kylee And a slightly grumpy cat named Aldo I pet sit in DC so if you need someone to watch your pup in the DMV area I am your girl! Other interests include but are not limited to: good books, Buddhist philosophy, theoretical conversations, art making, good food, hiking, snorkeling, indie music, and some good old Netflix and chill. I’m also pretty obsessed with piers, palm trees, and blue skies if you hadn’t noticed!

I‘ve been wanting to share so much lately but I don’t feel like writing it down. Not only because it takes a lot of time but also because I might not find the right words. And I also didn’t want to talk on my story for like an hour, just because people don’t tend to listen to them - we mostly just like to browse through, now don’t we?! I wrote this piece a little while ago about quasi-recovery’ and I wanted to share it again. Maybe you can relate. I think it links well to much we have spoken about over the past month or so; ideas about growth, letting go, building yourself… I hope that you find it helpful or if you know someone that might, pass it on <3. I hope it helps you realise you are not alone, your feelings are valid, we all feel and that is okay. I am a year on from this point now. And so, I hope helps you see you will be okay I have shied away from talking about recovery for a long time because I’m ‘fine’, I’m recovered right? 12 years on from when this all started I’m just not sure my feelings valid. I mean, I eat now, when I once didn’t; I’m not so underweight that I’ll drop dead; and hey I've even had a couple of periods to show for my increase in physical health Having an eating disorder has become an accepted part of me and my day, almost like brushing my teeth; just who I am and what I think about. I can function pretty well with it, I’m an expert at plastering on a smile and my bubbly personality sees me through just about anything. I’m able to go to work, I can attend pretty much all social occasions and make it work, I can eat out… so whats the problem Well a few things Presence for one. Sometimes it feels as if I’m not there, almost like the past decade I’ve been on automatic, going through the motions. I zone out, I can’t connect, I’m on a different frequency And maybe thats not all that surprising, The Minnesota Starvation Experiment highlighted how even a small amount of restriction can impact us (I spoke more about that in a previous post… I’ll tag it in my stories). It can cause a preoccupation with food resulting in everything else becoming background noise, and can cause us to put things off - not only as we wait to have a thinner body, but also because hunger might actually postpone living too.
