It’s not about the followers or likes. It’s not about how many people attended your event or complimented your outfit or think you’re the epitome of society’s beauty standards. It’s not about ________ (insert your fave outside validation here) or any other low vibrational BS we equate with meaning. . . . Sometimes I have to shiva slap myself back to truth and love and what matters most because I fall into this trap. But I don’t want hunger to define my life anymore. There are lots of ways to fill the empty space. My go-to practice these days is japa/mantra meditation. Put your mala beads to work. . . . We will always be tested and measured. Despite the outcome, can we stand firm in what is authentic and good, what uplifts and fulfills? . . . Step back. Deep breaths. Throwing it back to a few weeks ago when all my alpaca dreams came true Rainbow mountain has been on my bucket list for a while now and I’m so thankful for the group of adventurous yogis of @yogagymescapes who said they were game to hike up to the top of this beast of a mountain standing at 17 000ft ⛰ Let me tell you attitude is no joke, we took horses most of the way up and the last stretch to the top was a serious challenge (even after conditioning ourselves all week with #theYogaGym!) Once we were at the top the view was absolutely amazing and unlike anything I’ve ever seen, I’m still blown away at the amazing gifts Mother Nature has given us. If there’s one thing I learned in Peru it’s that love is the substance of all life. That everything is connected through love, absolutely everything. ❤️❤️❤️ I had a feeling Peru was going to be special and the theme of love started to present itself right away. Throughout the planning stage for @yogagymescapes, @mantraband had sent me the most beautiful bracelets for my guests, the saying was a surprise and when they arrived they read “I am loved.” After arriving in Peru at our retreat location @samadhisacredvalley the owner lead us through a beautiful meditation with the mantra “I am love.” Love quickly became the theme of the retreat as we all came together to face our fears and challenges, making new friends and reconnecting with old friends. After the retreat ended my husband and I did an ayahuasca retreat, one of the most challenging but also one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever done. My experience confirmed this connection to love and the power of it. I’m keeping that mantra with me today and everyday, bringing back a little piece of Peru, a little reminder to approach everything with love. I am love. You are love. We are all love If you take a second to think about how you could approach everyday challenges in your life with love you can being to realize a different outcome. Your anger quickly fades because you are approaching things from a place of love and understanding, you gain self confidence because you are lifting yourself up instead of putting yourself down and your relationships (romantic or not) are better because you have let in unconditional love and empathy. There’s a reason there’s so many famous sayings “all you need is love” “love conquers all” it’s not a coincidence. I picked this photo because it was during our ayahuasca retreat, our second day after the first ceremony. Our social responsibility activity was to visit their dog shelter and spend some time with the dogs, I can’t think of a better place to channel unconditional love than to be surrounded by dogs.
