I didn’t go to Versailles this year But that doesn’t mean I didn’t play 18th C dress up in France . . . This incredible gown was made by the one of a kind talent @mme_jejette, the master of my 18th century dreams! She spent countless hours working on this saque-back gown for me, it is her outstanding design. She spent over 40hrs hand sewing every sequin and tassel in place. I am honored to be its wearer It is not a perfect fit in this image, as I unexpectedly lost 2” off of my waist since the original measurements were taken, so a delicate tailoring is in the cards for this masterpiece, but for now... here she is, in 3/4 glory. . . . My new shiny gown in my studio amongst my antique collection. This dress is a true masterpiece, made up of all antique threads, laces and sequins, from Atelier Saint-Honore handmade by the master herself Anna @mme_jejette.

Finally feeling inspired! I bought the silk taffeta for this dress mostly because it was v cheap and there was enough yardage. I liked it but didn’t loooove it and have been secretly feeling I made a mistake but woo hoo! Yesterday I found the right complimentary fabric that makes my original choice look more purple and less taupey. Now I’m excited and inspired again. Phew! The paler fabric while you can’t tell here is an amazing pink shot with black. Could only afford a small amount but the front skirt panel and the stomacher in it will make all the difference!. Oh and thanks to all who helped me choose which hoops to use.
