I've been wanting to do a day at the beach in vintage bathing costumes for a while now. So last weekend, my love and I did just that! It was sooooo much fun! His mom gave me the pattern for my dress at Christmas and I drafted my own pattern for his outfit. (More on both of those things later) I captured some of our time there in a silent film style video. Wearing a ca. 1919-1920 ensemble today. My blouse is the Elsie blouse pattern from @wearinghistory and it was so cute and quick to make that I'm already thinking of sewing a more modern version for everyday wear. I've got to say, 2019 has been a really productive year so far - I think I've already made more outfits than the entire previous year - but I'm looking forward to three months with no deadlines now. My new yellow kirtle!! Handsewn out of the first fabric I've ever plantdyed and since it shrinked in that process, the piece were just 190*138cm (!) Some piecing were necessarily but it worked really well .
