WOW! I am absolutely blown AWAY by the love you all showed my last post about the #tealpumpkinproject. Whether you’re a follower or just passing through, I just want you to know your support means so very much. Ethan just turned two but I already have anxiety thinking of keeping him safe as he gets older, making sure he doesn’t have to eat lunch alone, hoping I don’t have to explain why he wasn’t invited to a birthday party or allowed at the class party It’s beyond comforting that SO many of you are offering words of support, wondering how you can get involved, and posting your own experiences of already being involved; it really gives me hope that I won’t have to raise him in a world where I have to worry about the above things (as much ) simply because there are people who CARE . Here I am 100% vulnerable. I don’t want to shy away from the reality of living with food allergies, so today I am sharing this photo. I don’t love it, but it tells a story. • This was a little over a year ago when I got my skin prick test done. It hadn’t had one in 24 years! Due to my history of anaphylaxis the doctors wanted to have me hooked up to an IV during the test, just in case. Well I didn’t drink enough water or eat a big enough breakfast because I fainted when they tried to put the first IV in. When I came to after a few minutes I was in a panic. I thought I had gone into anaphylactic shock! The nurses were so sweet and reassure me: “Honey we haven’t even put in the IV!" It was a relaxed, warm, and friendly environment to wake up in. So my anxiety was quickly lowered. After 6 tries and three doctors they finally got a line in and I could start my test.
