#lunch : 1/2 Quesadilla & tossed salad. PUNSELIE’S Stroopkoekje!!!! ————————————————————————First of all I got an AMAZING package from @dailyrecovering and there are SOOOO many amazing snacks I am excited to try. I didn’t even want to wait or allow my ED to build fear around these snacks so I had one!!! It was a delicious biscuit with a caramel filling!!!! Now back to this meal! I went out for lunch with my dietician from last year and it was actually so nice to meet up again. I had no idea what to get and I thought to myself she has a healthy sensible brain so why not get what she gets! And that’s what I did and it was bigger then I was expecting but a wonderful challenge for my eating disorder. Telling her how much I have changed and grown from the last time I seen her was even shocking to me. Sometimes I am so in the moment I totally forget how far I have actually come. Sometimes all I can see is how much I have left to do. How much more challenges and rule braking I have. But to actually sit back and tell someone how much I have changed and improved is so weird. “ You can’t go back and change the beginning but you can start we’re you are and change the ending.” I can never change the fact I got anorexia but I can change the ending of letting this illness take me down or showing it how much stronger I am. ————————————————————————#quesadilla #challenge #challengeyourfears #foodie #allfoodisgoodfood #foodisfuel #foodislife #foodismedicine #foodisnottheenemy #foodisgood #food #instafood #foodphotography

"I can't have ice cream, I'm feeling big." Being honest, thoughts like this were the norm for many years. One day you'll feel confident in your skin and then one triggering moment will make you feel less than confident. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We can't stop the negative feelings about our body coming up (I still have those days now), but we CAN control how they impact our actions. Feelings come and go like waves. Let’s talk pizza- one of the biggest fear foods among clients Is that because we’ve been conditioned to fear it? In reality, it has all of the major food groups (carbs, fats, protein, dairy) and can have loads of fiber depending on what you put on top. There are several micronutrients, like calcium, vitamin D (tough to get through food!), potassium, B vitamins, vitamin A, iron depending on toppings, and more. And that’s before even talking about the comfort and the emotions that pizza can quench and the satisfaction it provides. Late night memories, enjoyment, excitement from trying a new combination at a new restaurant, convenience of ordering in at home and watching a movie, sharing food with a crowd. Pizza may not be a 4th of July food but can you take this mentality to other foods? What are your favorite toppings? What are you looking forward to this holiday?

Talking to kids; we say one thing and they hear and understand something totally different. ‍♀️ - As the adult you decide what food is served and when. But once you decide that, Treat all the food as morally equal, and let kids decide how much of each food to eat. - Trust them to recognize their own levels of fullness (reminding them that food won't be available for a while after the meal) and honour it! Just some tuesday thoughts. Some things to ponder to help determine if you have a disordered relationship with food. you can’t separate food from exercise. you turn down social events because you’re worried about the food. you base food choices off of arbitrary times, or what other people say you “should” eat. you’re unsure what hunger and fullness feel like. you think about food all the time. you wouldn’t dare eat a food you really like because it’s too high in xyz. you count anything (grams of fat, carbs, calories, etc). you’ll only eat a food if you have exercised or can compensate for it. you label foods as “good” or “bad”. your whole day is affected if one eating choice is not what you planned. you can’t be spontaneous with your food choices. you sacrifice sleep, work, relationships while worrying about food or nutrition. These are just some examples. Please know that you are not a bad person if you are experiencing any of these feelings. You’ve been conditioned to feel this way towards food but there are OTHER ways. Intuitive eating is feasible for ANYONE. What’s the dumbest food rule you’ve ever heard?
