January’s full moon is #wolfmoon and it takes place on the 21st of this month. . In an effort to keep my goal of not posting art and running, I’m going to share with you what is going on in my daily life. . I know my friends are all tired of me talking about this but it’s all consuming for me right now. So if you’re tired of my talking about it just scroll by. Im in the throws of the government shutdown much like a lot of people I know. . . My day job is working subcontract to NASA in IT Security. Most contracts don’t get retroactive pay although some do. I am in a weird situation because I accepted another job right before the government shutdown. Unfortunately because of the shutdown, I can’t onboard until it’s over. So as of Monday, unless something changes, I’m unemployed until the government reopens. This means my insurance expires and I’m going without pay. To say I’ve been stressed out is an understatement. I’m dealing with some medical issues right now and also my husband and injured his neck. It’s all so stressful. . Honestly I’m a mess. I’m really trying not to panic. A few of my friends think it may possibly end on the 11th. But who knows. ‍♀️ One thing that shocks me is how many people I know that are affected. So many and no, it’s not “just the Democrats” that are affected. Working on my piece “Buddha in Winter”. This is one in a series of four (one for each season!) . You can really see the beautiful dual tone of the white/blue paint from @bluepinearts I am so in love with her paints. I’m finding myself using these paints in everything I paint lately. I’m also using paint from @danielsmithartistsmaterials His Indigo and Payne’s Grey blue tone are two of my favorites. . . My “canvas” is watercolor paper stretched on aluminum panel from @trekell_art_supplies I love their wooden panels but this is sublime! I’ll definitely be buying more of these. . I was like inspired by my friend Gitte’s photograph of her berries in winter. (Shown if you scroll through the photos).
