When it came to changing my lifestyle, habits, and nutrition to heal my body it was a no-brainer. How could I not choose to live a better life and be free of pain and illness? How could I not choose a future where I wake up and feel amazing in my body? I’ve seen the darkness of disease so choosing the path of sustainable health made sense for me.... but it doesn’t for a lot of people. Even many of you reading this would rather take a pill, drink a tea, or crash diet to get the body you think you want. You think you want it because it gives you instant gratification but it will only lead you right back to square one. I’m sorry to say but there is no magic anything to get your dream bod- inside or out. You don’t get to choose what’s destined for you, but you do get to decide how you handle what you’re given. Every day you have a choice to better yourself, your health, and walk on a path towards a life you truly desire. There is nothing that can stop a determined mind, body, and soul from achieving. Everything in nature can be used as a medicine if its qualities are known and the medicine is prepared and applied properly to the right person. This is why I dove deeply into studying herbalism. The way plants dance with our bodies to create more harmony is a beautiful and sacred act I had to teach others how to utilize this potent medicine. When your system is out of energetic balance, it becomes dis-harmonious and prone to disease and dysfunction. Something just feels “off.” You might become moody, sluggish, depressed, or anxious, depending on your dosha type. That's why it's so important to understand your personal constitution and the specific treatments to address and correct imbalances in your unique system, including inflammation- the culprit in many diseases. For example, vata types are prone to feeling ungrounded and cold, with flighty temperaments, unless they are properly balanced. Pitta types can get too fiery and emotionally unstable, whereas kapha types are prone to sluggishness. The freshness is REAL. Harvest time of lemongrass at my neighbors and damn am I kicking my heals with glee. I’m all for the support of good quality supplements but only if we aren’t bypassing the true medicine found in our food first. Organic #papaya is one of my favorites and always soothes my gut! This is because papaya contains a special enzyme called papain. Papain helps the body break down and use proteins properly because it helps to break apart the bonds between amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. Papain is different than other enzymes because it can work without the presence of acid. Therefore, due to its ability to break apart amino acids, this papaya enzyme can be helpful for those struggling with low stomach acid. It’s truly a wondrous fruit! Finally sharing my daily green smoothie recipe! It’s been a long time coming and many messages later but I’ve written it out for y’all and hope you find as much joy drinking this emerald green drink as I do. Swipe for recipe card. Smoothies are a wonderful way to increase your daily micronutrient intake and are easy on digestion. Some Tips to Upgrade: You can add fresh herbs like cilantro, parsley, dandelion, basil, ginger, and mint to upgrade the healing benefits! To make this protein packed use my go to @vitalproteins collagen peptides which dissolves instantly and makes it super creamy. This recipe fills my @vitamix to the top so I either share with others or bottle it up and drink 3 big smoothies throughout the day. Always consume your smoothies room temperature for better digestion! Cold slows down digestion and puts out Agni. Chew your smoothie!
