How do you get aligned? . Before I had kids, before I had an office and an acupuncture practice, this was what my mornings looked like . My sacred morning coffee, enjoyed in silence. No real expectations on my time or energy. Some journaling, reading, intention setting, yoga, meditation, breathwork . My life certainly doesn’t look like this now, but I’ll spare you the frenzied details because most of you are probably juggling your fair share . But here is the thing. I need these practices, this quite time, a morning ritual to feel like myself . These days less is more and the quicker I can get it done the better . I set now set my alarm 20 minutes early to give myself a little more time to fit my morning practices in . Ultimately it’s worth it because it sets the tone for my day, centers me and helps me be a better mom/ healer/ human . A few years ago I used to think the phrase “every body is a bikini body” was a lame cop out. If I believed it, that would mean all my efforts to be smaller were for nothing. Thank GOODNESS I’ve come to realize how small-minded that thinking was and that trying to shrink my body truly only did more harm than good!! I think I dream of @pouletbleupgh’s soufflé at least once a day. It’s been an adventure eating, working, and living my way through Pittsburgh these last eight (YES 8!!!) months, to say the least. I’ve found new friends that love to eat, built relationships with the owners and workers at the places I’ve grown to love (and visit all too frequently), and am now able to work with some of them. Congratulations to all of the Best Restaurants of 2019 as named by @pittsburghmagazine; this is just a small pool of the amazing cuisine this city has to offer. I cannot wait to continue eating my way though Pittsburgh and also celebrate these successful restaurants in the process.
