You don't need to revel in mistakes and cheapen grace but my hope is that we can reach a point where our mistakes don't send us into a spiral of "poor me", "I'm such a screw up", "I'm a fraud!", "I'll never get this figured out!" - Am I talking to myself here? I can't be the only mom who gets that nighttime guilt after a rough day. Maybe I'm the only one who needs this. If so, I'll preach it to myself. - Lighten up momma. If guilt has you right now, sit in amazement that there's someone who loved you enough and knew every sin your ever commit and still died for you. - I subconsciously think today's sin is fresh and wasn't already covered 2,000 years ago by Jesus' blood. The reality is Jesus died for today's sins too. They've already been retroactively nailed to the cross. - This isn't a casual "shake it off, you'll do better tomorrow" peptalk. A little throw back Thursday . When I was 16 years old, I was told I had a chromosome translocation that would decrease my chances of ever becoming a mama. This would be a lot for anyone to process, but to be honest at that age I didn’t even try to process it. . Fast forward to when I found out I was expecting my Tucker. At my first OB appointment at around 9 weeks I was immediately set up with a high risk doctor and genetic counselor, who told me what my odds were of having a miscarriage or having a baby with a life threatening syndrome (Trisomy 13) that would result in still birth or the baby only surviving hours after birth. I was then told I needed what is called CVS testing done, which is similar to an amniocentesis where they shove a large needle through your uterus to collect amniotic fluid, only it’s done around 10 weeks gestation. By far one of the scariest, hardest, most painful things I have ever been through. My mom held my hand and talked me through it, thank goodness! . It took about ten days to get the full results from the testing. The longest ten days of my life, until I had to do it all over again with Maria. I don’t remember much of what the doctor said to me that day, all I heard is that everything was NORMAL and that the sweet little baby at only 11 weeks gestation in my belly was a BOY! . Repeat almost everything the same when I found out I was pregnant with Maria, except now they had a less invasive way of testing but the results were only 91% accurate. I chose the less invasive testing, waited 10 days for results and was told they were normal. We kept the gender a surprise, which killed Jacob. I then had to follow up with my high risk doctor every 3 weeks until about 32 weeks, to have ultrasounds done to check for any birth defects. I would hold my breath at every ultrasound, have tears coming down my face, and wait to hear something was wrong, NEVER did! . It didn’t come without loss and tears, but I am SO blessed to have two sweet little ones. So when I say I am so grateful I get to be their mama and that I get to have more days home with them, I mean it even more than you would think.❤️

Watermelon is life. At least for this lil guy! Anyone else . We (the kids and I) are back at my parents for probably a week. We are hoping to go up to KC mid-next week and spend a long weekend. But it all depends on if there is a full working bathroom. ‍♀️ Greg has been there for the past few days doing what he can to help speed things up. So thankful for nearby friends who let him shower. . As it looks now, it will still be a few weeks until everything is ready. So here we wait.
