I saw this portrait of Saint Rita in an antique store and fell in love with it, even though I didn’t know who the portrait depicted. But it was out of our budget at the time, so I didn’t buy it. Later that day, I mentioned how much I’d loved it in passing to my father-in-law, and a week later it showed up at my house. He’d driven more than an hour out of his way to get it for me. And as it turned out, a friendship with Saint Rita, the patron saint of difficult marriages, impossible causes, infertility and parenthood, was exactly what I needed over the next few years. I’m so grateful that I was led to you, Saint Rita. Thank you for your intercession, and for your beautiful example of faith, holiness, courage, and trust. Please pray for us!
