Day 3 JO Finals was led by Dylan Kofford, Samantha a Reguero and Morgan Messenger. For the 5-10 Boys, Dylan won consols (9th place) in the 100FR, he finished 7th in the 50BF and 8th in the 200IM! Sammy placed 10th in the 13-14 Girls 100BF, while Morgan Messenger finished 5th in the 15+ Girls 200IM. Our prelims swimmers had some great results in the pool as well: Collette Wagner was 3 for 3 in drops in the 100FR, 50BF and 200IM. Leila Kezelman had over a 2 second drop in her 400FR. Brennan Wagner also had big drops in the 50BF and 200IM. Sammy and Madison Hotmer both had drops in the 200IM as well. It was so awesome to see our older kids cheering on our younger swimmers today at the meet, showing our team pride, unity and Coyote spirit!! With one more day of individual competition, the Coto Coaches are looking forward to our final day of racing and seeing what our swimmers have left in the tank. Day 1 of Summer JO's saw some incredible swims from our Coyotes!! We had several swimmers come back for Day 1 Finals. The night got started with the backstroker shutting the water first. In the 15+ Girls 200BK, Morgan Messenger placed 5th, while Madison Hotmer finished 12th. Next up, the flying duo of Emily Bird and Sammy Reguero went 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 13-14 Girls 200BF. Morgan Messenger won consols for the 15+ Girls 200BF. And Emily Bird closed out the night with a 7th place finish in the 13-14 Girls 800FR. We also had Nicky Vye and Cate Loyd as second alternates and though they weren't called up, they were ready to go!! This morning we had some amazing prelims swims that also deserve to be noted: Nicky Vye dropped in the 100BK and 100BF; Leila Kezelman is back in racing form and dropped in the 100BK and 100FR and Mat Becker had a huge 8 second drop in the 200BK. Cate Loyd swam her 800FR in prelims and placed 8th for the 15+ Girls. What a great start to JO's!! Good Luck to our Coyotes swimming at Junior Olympics in Santa Clarita this Wednesday-Saturday. We sent our Coyotes off to JO's carb loaded and with plenty of Coyote swag!! This past weekend the Coyotes hit the water at the Summer JO Max meet in Costa Mesa. The 10 & under Coyotes had a successful meet with tons of new best times, blue times and several new JO cuts. The brother, sister duo of Brennan and Collette Wagner picking up 10 new JO times between the two of them. As for our 11 and older Coyotes, they too had a successful meet, with 82% best times and Nicky Vye picked up two new JO times as well. Our Coyotes definitely closed out the summer with a bang!! Coto Cubs 1st Annual GIRLS (Team Abby) v BOYS (Team Jerod) Swim Meet!! What a FUN and exciting meet we had last Thursday at the club!! It was so awesome to see our Cubs swimmers so amped up to race each other, Girls v Boys!! Our swimmers raced their hardest and had fun winning ribbons and rubber duckies!! We also saw our Cubs Parents take to the pool in the first ever Cubs Parents Relay!! What a sight to see! Who knew we had such great parent swimmers?! They had some serious skills in the pool! The meet closed out with the Coaches Relay!! It's been a great summer to be a Cub!! #cotocubs #summerswimteam #girlsvboys #cotoproud ‍♀️
