Did you know that 75% of people with Crohn's Disease will need multiple surgeries? Today I go in for mine. I've known this was coming for so long but it doesn't feel real because its came about very suddenly. I haven't had much time to process. Wish me luck! _ #crohns #crohnsdisease #crohnssurgery #surgery #health #nervous #scared #heal #hospital #autoimmune #ibd #ibdawareness #life #living #autoimmunedisease #recovery #sunshine #smile #smileanyway #ibdcommunity #crohnsfighter

Sunday evenings are a favorite of mine just as much as Sunday mornings ☀️ My porch, cool breezes, staring out into greenery, are a few little things that bring me joy and realize how lucky I am to be home. ⁣The start of summer has been chaotic, so I cherish moments when I allow myself to just be - after all, that’s my only option since I’m still recovering. ⁣ ⁣ My body is responding well to some solid foods! I’ve been mostly living off of smoothies, soups, yogurt, and mashed potatoes (can’t complain there). High protein + soft food diet have been my safety diet for the last week or so, but I’m slowly introducing veggies (very very softly cooked) and “rougher” protein. This is a typical dinner for me which is enough to keep me full for a long time. Smaller and more frequent meals are the way to go! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ I’m back to the hospital to meet with my surgeon as a follow up tomorrow. I’m pray for this drain (aka my leash) to come out!! Tis all. Have a lovely Sunday evening

POST THREE: I have been med-free, symptom free, Dr. free & thriving for 7 years now! I haven’t even gotten the common cold! All thanks to detox. I never knew how sick I was until I lifted the veil of illness that was shadowing over me. What a weight to lift!! It’s all been a huge blessing! The one thing that’s recently been haunting me is damage from my past bowel surgeries. Once you get surgery to remove sections of your intestines, there is a vicious cycle where you need more surgery to remove the adhesions that grow from the place of reconnection. In medical thinking, the solution is in the cause which creates a continuous pattern of more scar tissue formation and a need for surgery because these adhesions cause more bowel obstructions. My last surgery 9 years ago was to remove scar tissue from my first surgery 10 yrs prior. Dr’s told me that every 10 years, if I even made it that long, I’d need to get more cut out until I have nothing left and would need a colostomy bag (which I crazily accepted at one point as my fate). I’m approaching my 10th year since my last surgery and sure enough, I feel my adhesions tightening around my intestines. No matter how much detox you do, or fruit you eat, or castor oil and DMSO packs I’ve done, these things are so strong to break up!! They can form webs that connect and constrict bowels & neighboring organs. I’ve been feeling an increase of them in my reconnection site and wrapping around into my lower back. Food gets stuck a lot in that area and it causes me a lot of discomfort & tightness in my lower belly. I’ve been having to increase my maintenance to keep things moving properly. I know it’s the adhesions and not inflammation. I know my body and I know the difference between the two. In fact I had to go get bloodwork last week to check my inflammation markers and I was terrified. I have not gotten bloodwork in 7 years & a little part of me was in fear that my markers would be high. As I said in Part One of this post, I’ve NEVER had normal bloodwork. For all these years after detox, I’ve relied on how I felt and no symptoms to me, meant no dis-ease, and that’s why I haven’t gotten bloodwork. Swipe left in pics to cont.

PART FOUR: My adhesion pain started in the beginning of June and at first I thought it was detox symptoms, but it started to occur everyday. I didn’t believe it was inflammation because I felt great otherwise. The hemp oil has been helping me immensely with the discomfort (It’s a powerful natural pain killer!) but I knew no matter how much I tried to cleanse my bowels and eat light, I knew it was my adhesions from past surgeries coming back to haunt me, as they do after surgery. They are SO strong and form a web around the bowels that keeps wreaking havoc unless taken care of. I refuse to get anymore surgery so I was praying for an answer. I have tried enzyme therapy, I do regular castor oil packs, self massage, a castor oil/DMSO protocol from Jini Patel and although it has helped, these adhesions are still relentlessly holding their grip. I randomly found Clear Passages on Youtube one day and I broke down into tears because I knew this was my answer. I cried because I was so grateful to have found a natural non-surgical solution. The Clear Passage Approach is a revolutionary hands-on peer reviewed and proven technique called the Wurn technique designed to break up adhesions, scar tissue and other blockages that prevent the muscles, organs and systems of your body from working properly. Their technique is a natural, non-surgical, drug-free solution that treats the core problem, not just the symptoms. I am heading down to Florida right now to do my therapy. It’s 5+ hours a day for 5 days and they manually break up the adhesions and any blockages by hand. It is intense, deep, and can create discomfort and detox. They will be breaking down old hardened tissue that’s been there for over 20 years that can be holding trauma, emotions, medications and toxins. I am expecting it to be a pretty good release! Will keep you posted on how it goes. In mean time, go to ClearPassages.com for more info. ⭐️Swipe pics to read more!

*Ickle Me and IBD* I'm often asked what life was like before #crohns pitched up in my intestines declaring inflammatory rights... truth be told, I don't know. . I didn't get diagnosed until I was 27, but from an early age I knew something wasn't right (gut instinct for you). I have a long history of digestive disasters, blasé GPs, and hilariously unfortunate accidents (Mum sure was right about from the van ). Looking back, I don't quite know how it took so long, I kinda feel a tad sad for little me! . I've still had a jolly good time mind and have always loved life despite it (look at that happy face). But hope that with greater awareness, and enhancements in diagnostic tools and medicine, others get help sooner. Early treatment can dramatically improve symptoms and for many, even reduce / delay the need for surgical intervention. . I wish they'd discovered my Crohn's sooner but treatments and tests can be gruelling even for us giving adulting a good shot. I have huge admiration and the utmost respect for all the little IBD warriors out there #ibdkids #ibdawarenessmonth #earlydiagnosis

I am now out of Intensive Care and partying it up on the main ward (even have my own ickle room with a private loo...an upgrade from the hotel Rob and I stayed in last weekend that's for sure). . Currently pretty dosed up and somewhat sleepy but have managed to walk around a little this evening and even ate most of a yoghurt...baby steps! Looking forward to sharing more with you all when I am fully back in the land of the living.
