The first time I tried Yin yoga, I immediately fell in love* with its sweet, slow combination of movement and stillness (thanks @yoga_with_kassandra ). I loved the way this practice made me feel both physically and mentally. For my body (especially in the beginning), after a Yin class, it felt like I had just gotten a massage. It was my gateway into mindfulness and meditation, and is one of the things that helped me work through some of my worst periods of anxiety and panic. It is such a gift to now be able to share this practice with others. ⁣⁣ ⁣ Weekly Yin classes at @cultivate_yoga_fitness :⁣⁣ Sunday’s 10:30 am⁣⁣ Tuesday’s 7:45 pm⁣⁣ Wednesday’s 10:05 am ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ *sometimes love and appreciation needs time to grow, and not every style of yoga works for every body. If Yin is a style of yoga that is ok for you, try a few classes with a few teachers to see if you like it.

I had every intention of making this a feel good post.... enter my F’n caveman of a husband trying to one up me ☠️ Full blown tears watching him hit the wall like a broken bulldozer. Sadie got off the bus today and asked if I was at yoga.. nope! Surprise babe! I actually just live in leggings and hoodies We’ve been working on forearm stands in class and I seriously neeeevvveerr thought it was something my body would be able to do. I watch all of the women in complete awe and just keep trying. She always says “I just wuv to be big and strong and smart wike my mommy” So up we went and I finally centered and caught some air. Today I had the opportunity to represent @cultivate_yoga_fitness at Aon and teach 2 corporate yoga classes. We focused on bringing awareness to the breath to help create a sense of peace and relaxation, as well as connecting movements to our own unique breathing rhythms. Big thanks to Amy for hosting and to everyone who came to practice this morning. ⁣ ⁣ After working in a corporate environment for 7 years, this was kind of a full circle moment for me - being back in a big office again, but this time to teach yoga!
