Okay, so truth time: This post was hard for me. About six weeks ago, @dontquitgetfit4k sent me this amazing athletic romper (it’s so comfortable, btw,) but I was so insecure about posting pics in it. We’ve all been there. You know the place where we compare ourselves to others or even to a better, former version of ourselves. I’m not where I want to be right now. I want to be more fit, and I’m working towards that goal (check out my amazing trainer’s page, @mpfitpro ) but I’m no where near where I want to be or what I feel is my personal best. I actually enjoy working out (but I also like naps and don’t eat the best ) So, I’m writing all this to let y’all know that even though I wish I was at a different place, I am glad I posted this. It reminds me to be grateful for the body that I have. The body that will one day birth my children and be the lap my grandchildren sit upon for stories and songs. No one is perfect. We are all imperfect and that’s part of our beauty. Of course I want to keep striving to be better, but loving myself along the way will get me there faster. If you’ve read this far, thank you. A few more shots with the super comfy athletic romper from @dontquitgetfit4k I definitely recommend wearing something like this because it allows so much motion. I would definitely add a sports bra for added support, but aside from that it’s perfect. Also, look at our tennis courts! They look amazing freshly painted. Abs check ft. new thermal leggings from Costco! Hey, if the clothes fit right and look good, I'm not one to discriminate based on brand, yknow? On another note, it's a HUGE snowstorm here in Toronto today - EVERYTHING outside my window is a complete white mess... ❄️ In all honesty, I really hate the long, cold, dark months of Toronto winters; I know some people love snow and winter activities and all that... but the whole thing just tends to affect me mentally and makes me feel really down a lot of the time. Does anyone feel the same way about these freezing winters besides me? Genuinely wish I could live somewhere where it never snows or drops to freezing temperatures... maybe one day. In the meanwhile, stay warm (and safe!) out there, friends. ⛄️

Same swimsuit. Same body. HEALTHIER HABITS. ✨ -- I'm kind of shocked these photos are only 8 months apart! There is an 18lb / 8.2kg change between these photos. ⬇️ What the scale doesn't tell me is how much lean muscle I've gained, but I can tell it's there when I bench 70lbs when previously I struggled to lift a 10lb dumbbell. I can tell it's there when I deadlift 150lbs or squat 130lbs, more than I weigh... I can tell it's there when I'm able to pump out just one more rep than I did the day before. -- Feeling strong PHYSICALLY empowers you MENTALLY. Oh lawddd, do I ever believe in this message now. I really want and hope for other women to experience the empowerment that comes from this positive lifestyle change like I have! Starve-yourself diets, excessive cardio and waist trainers are unlikely to transform your body safely and sustainably (shit bro I used to do the waist trainer thing too... little did I know it's a snake oil gimmick that preys perfectly on women's body insecurities ). STRENGTHENING your body from the inside out, both physically and mentally, that's what will transform your body for the better. At least, that's what did it for me. -- By the way, thank you for those 2000+ that choose to follow me. Some of you have DM'd me saying I've inspired you in one way or another, and I want you to know that your support motivates and inspires me just as much, if not more! I seriously adore my little fitfam, love you guys hehe (long ass caption but I have da feeelzzz sorry not sorry).

Lower body progress: 2nd year of uni ⏩ now ☺️ - I went MIA this past week after finishing my semester. Wish I could say it was because I was super busy or something more "respectable" but tbh I've been going through a slump. Then I came across the left photo yesterday and was shocked how thin and underdeveloped my legs were. - My point being, when you're feeling discouraged that you're getting nowhere, LOOK BACK TO WHERE YOU STARTED. If that means taking an embarrassing amount of progress photos and hiding them in a separate folder on your phone, I don't care, DO IT. You need to be able to SEE the differences month to month, year to year, to ultimately keep at it when this lifestyle gets physically (and mentally) exhausting. - Many of you know of my weight loss story over the past year - but before I had gained the excess weight from eating crap and insisting that "I don't need exercise lololol", I was a thin girl with no muscle tone and a relatively straight figure. I don't think I looked bad on the left, but I personally prefer the physique I'm building on the right, and I now feel the STRONGEST and HEALTHIEST I've ever been in my life! A year ago, I was too weak to lift dumbbells that weighed more than a few pounds. - About half a year ago, I started bench pressing with just the weight of the bar (embarrassing yet necessary ). - Last night, I hit a milestone of mine and benched 100 lbs / 45.3 kg for 4 sets of 5. That's 80% of my bodyweight! Needless to say, I'm pretty proud of the progress I've made and have already set the next goal in sight: benching my bodyweight. Issaaaa challenge. - I learned very early on that if you want to make gains you'll have to leave your ego at the door. I felt SUPER ridiculous benching with an empty bar in the beginning. No lie, I felt ashamed that I was "taking up space" at a bench when someone more worthy might want to use it. ‍♀️ But hey, the expert at anything was once a beginner, right? - Start with where you are. Work with what you've got. And don't be ashamed of being a beginner - we all were one at some point, after all. ☺️ #flexfriday #gainsovercomfort

Day by day nothing changes... but hey that's what progress pics are for. - Last night I was feeling frustrated with my progress lately. Now, comparing these two photos side by side speaks volumes to me. I've come quite a way in just 6 months! - With that being said, I still have a certain physique I'm striving for, and becoming top heavy isn't my goal. I'm happy with the muscle I've built in my upper body, and now it's time to switch up the GAME PLAN: I'm going to minimize upper body training to 1x a week for maintenance (sorry bench press and pull-ups, but you'll always be bae ). Meanwhile I'm back on my HIIT cardio regime and aiming for 2-3x a week. - The muscle mass is there. Now it's time to lean out these arms and abs. Not going to be easy but I'm down for the challenge. Stay tuned lol - What are your physique goals right now?
