Everybody has bad days when their personal triggers come up. Healthy living doesn’t mean never falling apart. I woke feeling awful, knowing I had a big day, knowing I should get up to do some practice but feeling like I couldn’t move. For a few moments I found myself in victim mode, with ‘woe is me’ thoughts. Then the stronger part of me hoisted me out of bed and into meditation to uncover what was disturbing me and figure out how to get back to myself. It worked, like it usually does for me now, because I have a process that has been refined over many years of false tries. . I’m in the early stages of breaking these techniques down into simple steps that anybody can learn. My hope is that I can aggregate my 25 years of learning into a methodology that will help you too. Whether you are chronically sick and dealing with flare-ups or generally healthy but not living your fullest life, the tool for radical healing are an excellent support. . Yes, it was a bit too chilly for a group ride yesterday. And yes, it was too wet. But we did not ride for comfort. And we did not ride for joy. We rode for the 380,914 men who die each year of prostate cancer and the 504,213 men who lose their lives to suicide. We rode to make sure those numbers go down. Not up . Men are raised to be stoic and unemotional creatures. They are taught to suck it up. They are encouraged to be brooding and rock-like. But men are not rock-like. It's important that all gender-types feel as though they can talk to someone, that they can find help. If you are troubled, speak up. No matter how hard it may be. There are people who are waiting to listen to you. We promise. And if you are not troubled, be ready and willing to listen to someone who is. Don't ignore signs of depression. And men, go to the doctor. Get checked regularly for prostate and other cancers. Seriously . Meet our newest rescue! This poor girl was found on the side of the road, trembling in fear. She had clearly been dumped there, most likely because of her condition. She was terrified and confused about where she was. She hid in the bushes, but luckily Yasha saw her as he was driving by! We came with food, and she was starving! You can see how skinny and malnourished she is, in addition to suffering from Mange, for who knows how long! Although she was scared, she was still wagging her tail, excited about our presence. Once she came out to eat some food, we slowly started petting her and eventually picked her up to bring her home. We were lucky it didn’t turn into a chase through the bushes, I think this girl knew we were there to save her. She is safe now, and receiving the much needed treatment for her condition. We have her in with Thelma and Louise, who have welcomed her into their space with no issues. She’s still timid and unsure of what is going on, as expected. Imagine your whole life being turned upside down, she had a home and an owner who she was probably so loyal to and in love with, to all the sudden being left completely alone in a totally new place with all kinds of scary things like cars zooming by, people shooing her away, looking at her with disgust. I just can’t bear to think about how she felt. I don’t think it will take her long to open up to us, and start enjoying her new journey. One thing we need, is a name for her!! Is there anything that could go with Thelma and Louise? Or just a fitting name for this beautiful girl, let us know your ideas in the comments.
