As you can see we are working on placing all our weight on our inside leg which allows us to elongate our stride and get that extension. Secondly rotating are hips and into the middle of the ice keeping our elbow off our hip to give our self more options scanning the play. You want to improve your on ice awareness and vision? Grab a circle stare at the middle dot and wheel around . •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Progressional drill function ——————————————————————————— 1️⃣Take a Patch of ice and move in a Circular Motion. Lengthen our cut by placing all our weight on that inside leg. At the same time , distributing the puck cross body as we shift our weight . C cut to cross over to keep that stride length ——————————————————————————— 2️⃣showed the kids these videos of mat barzal prior to the drill breaking down his stride extension. Next we enacted a drill replication of this video of mat Barzal wheelin and dealing . Enjoy .

Attn: sappy post Yesterday was a surreal day. You are probably thinking it was just another day at the rink for me but this day was like no other. My new program has started off to be a great success. To see the excitement of these kids when they walked in to the dressing room looking for their names on a jersey, was something I’ve never felt before.
