Doing the dishes isn't so terrible anymore. I mean, don't get me wrong, I definitely don't look forward to doing them.  But ever since I replace out my plastic, germy sponge (that was always wet somehow)  to compostable brushes, I find that I don't hate it as much. It actually gives me a moment to reconnect with my values, in a weird way. I made the dish soap, thrifted the bowls, supported local artists by buying their ceramics, and of course swapped plastic for compostable scrubbers. It feels nice to live by my values on a daily basis, especially with something so seemingly small like what with what eat off of and clean with. . I guess the moral of this tory story is that, for me, living with intention has made mundane tasks more enjoyable. Social media tends to make zero waste look more glamorous than it actually is. Just because it doesn't look good doesn't mean it doesn't work.
