Nothing annoys me more then when the internet or medical sources down play the seriousness of endometriosis. Endometriosis is not just a bad period. For most, it is crippling pain every single day. An exhausted body from trying to expel the disease. Multiple damage organs from the stress of the disease and the intensity of the medications or surgeries and other procedures. Endoemetriosis has caused me serious liver damage, colon damage, bladder damage and more. Endometriosis causes our immune systems to be extremely weak, allowing me to get lupus which is an auto immune disease. Many women with endometriosis have a higher chance of having reproductive cancers and auto immune disorders. After surgeries we are left with tissue and nerve damage. Endometriosis is defintley a whole body disease and without the right attention, the right empathy and understanding, many women are left being diagnosed many years later, as well as being emotionally impacted from all the professionals who have given us their word, that it is nothing, that it is a bad period. It is not. Endometriosis is serious, it can lead to fatal disease and organ failures leading to deaths. As well as obstructions. Endometriosis is in the top 20 most painful diseases in the world.
