Tying together 11 years of cinematic history into a single 3 hour epic - ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is an ode to those that forged the franchise; a fantastically structured narrative combining the best elements of every MCU film into one final chapter. . This is a story about family, those that we lose, moving on, but also... refusing to. 'Avengers: Endgame' doesn't just signify a closing point for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the fundamental ending of a chapter for the entire superhero film genre. This IS the final chapter in the MCU novel that began it all, with the original 6 Avengers front and centre. It truly goes without saying that this film pays deep and honest respect to the original cast that helped birth the franchise. This film can only be described as a cinematic love-letter to the original 6, as well as the entire franchise. What the Russo brothers have done here is clear, this film is for the original 6 and for us, for the stories that have been shared over the past 11 years. All with the sole intent to conclude these stories in spectacular fashion. 'Avengers: Endgame' displays a masterclass effort in concluding character arcs, tying up open storylines, and giving each and every character the screen time and justice they deserve. Split into a three-act structure this film is anything but standard, as we're thrown deep into a whirlpool of narratively complex storytelling not feeling at all like the 3 hour runtime that it boasts. If 'Avengers: Infinity War' was the spectacle of the Infinity saga, then Endgame stands as its beating heart. This is a character driven film with the intent of letting us as an audience see these characters in their final forms, their lowest points and their highest. If you've been here from the beginning, then you need to be here for the end. . A "heavily-stacked cast" doesn't begin to describe the volume of performances seen throughout this film, but the original core characters are here, and for the most part they do not disappoint. Robert Downey Jr stands at the top, just as he always has within this franchise, providing us with a fully realised Tony Stark. . ⬇️ CONTINUED ⬇️

The Coen Brothers The Big Lebowski (1998) dir. Joel and Ethan Coen After a second viewing, and my consequent relation with the story itself, I felt a clear shift in my perspective. "The Big Lebowski" is not just a hilarious carnivalesque assemble of characters in impossible situations, but on top of that, it is the most unimaginable antiwar discourse I could have ever think of. The Coen Brothers' signature screenwriting shines, once again, especially when it comes to create characters that embody both the thesis and antithesis of violence and warfare. "The Dude abides..." says Jeff Bridges calmly, but it is no coincidence that Lebowski itself refers to its counterpart as "The Big Lebowski"; Dick Cheney's resemblance on point, by the way. The Dude is out there, thankfully, taking it easy... He just wants a new rug. No need to fight, no need for weapons, why should we have that need, right? It is a delusional character, or is it? It is a film that lies between straightforward critique and surreal subconscious hints of denounce. It is self-aware of its own stupidity in pointing out one of humanity's more obvious, yet widely accepted faults. Anger is not the way, so I'll just prepare a "white russian" for me and the dude, and chill out in the bowling a little bit, if you don't mind. See you at the Cinema Excelsior

Привет, друзья! Сегодня расскажу о своих впечатлениях от нового фильма киновселенной Marvel - «Мстители: Финал»! Действия картины начинаются спустя пару недель после событий «Войны Бесконечности». Оставшиеся в живых супергерои подавлены. Танос ускользнул, половина населения галактики испарилась из-за «щелчка» - в общем, не очень хороший расклад событий. «Мстители» в неведении, не знают, как дальше быть. Но, как минимум, ясно одно - сдаваться нельзя. Поэтому, собирая последние силы в кулак, Тони Старк, Стив Роджерс, Тор, Халк, Чёрная Вдова, Капитан Марвел и Соколиный Глаз подготавливают финальный план по свержению безумного титана Таноса. На этот раз, у них нет права на ошибку… Сразу вас предупрежу, что моя точка зрения не является на все сто трезвой и объективной, ведь я являюсь огромным фанатом данной киновселенной. Также сообщаю, что обзор НЕ содержит спойлеров, можете читать спокойно. Итак, я впервые за год так наслаждался фильмом. А ещё с радостью признаю четвёртую часть «Мстителей» одним из самых лучших фильмов Marvel. Но почему я так думаю? Давайте обо всём поподробней… Начну с громадного актёрского состава. В фильме снялись такие известные персоны, как Роберт Дауни мл. (Железный Человек), Крис Эванс (Капитан Америка), Марк Руффало (Халк), Крис Хемсворт (Тор), Скарлетт Йоханссон (Чёрная Вдова), Джереми Реннер (Соколиный Глаз, а нынче Ронин), Карен Гиллан (Небула), Бри Ларсон (Капитан Марвел), Дон Чидл (Воитель) и Пол Радд (Человек-Муравей). Всех их мы знаем по предыдущим лентам данной саги, поэтому думаю, никто из актёров не нуждается в представлении, ведь все они легенды, которые уже давно в КВМ. Но, пожалуй, особого внимания заслуживают «первооткрыватели» эпохи супергероев, которые выделились своей невероятной харизмой - это Дауни, Эванс и Хемсворт. На этой троице когда-то были построены первые фазы вселенной. И вот, уходит их пора. Актёры распрощались со своими ролями и, возможно, больше не появятся в сюжете последующих фаз (но, с другой стороны, никто не запрещал маленькие камео).
