We filmed a Guerlain video a few days ago, talking through our favourites from the house, and I lamented the fact that this was missing from my collection, so I’ve rectified that. I don’t like lemon, I always struggle with the toilet cleaner association, but this is a lemon I can get on with. This smells as classy as the bottle design suggests. It really feels like the Guerlain take on the classic cologne, with a bit of mint and basil thrown in at the top, and the unmistakable Provençal herbs and #guerlainaide . Whenever I’d tested this in the past I thought the performance was appalling, and whilst the citrus top completely disappears, the herbal mid does continue as a skin scent. The trick is, 20 sprays on a hot day, and keep topping up. Uplifting, elegant, classic. До России доехал наконец-то Alien Man Mugler. Мне напомнил старого Богарта и вообще классические брутальныйе мужские фужеры 80-х с огуречно-металлической нотой. Т.е. если хотите чего-то до крайности традиционного, вам сюда.

My sotd today is a gift from my husband! He was on a business trip and decided to surprise me with a perfume! I wish he called for instructions first, but oh well! I've been whining about not having any clean, fresh fragrances for months now so in that light, this is actually a pretty good match, apart from the fact that I had Ciel once before and sold it! I'm not unhappy though, because given his taste, I could've gone far worse, with some huge rose perfume, because he loves them, compliments me every time I test something rose heavy, which I usually hate, and he really likes loud, dark, unusual perfumes so I'm lucky I didn't end up with Black Afgano or some such! Ciel is clean, powdery, slightly soapy, tender, watery floral that to me smells mostly like an expensive body cream. Actually, this new bottle smells a little bit different than my old one and it reminds me of Oh!de Moschino (the way I remember it at least, it was long time ago). Other than that, Ciel is lovely and innofensive so nothing to firmly dislike there, but also nothing that would excite me either. But it found its way back to my wardrobe so maybe we're meant to be, I just don't know it yet!
