#Travelnursing taught me a lot— resourcefulness, triple checkin timecards, & patience, w/ recruiters refusin to believe ya took another contract n to please stop callin... but let’s talk about friendships. . I’ll never forget the connection I made with the girl in this picture. #Travelnurses from diff places, #onanisland with hardly anyone. Workin days/nights. Time off we’d cruise the island, run w/ her pooch, chill in the tide pools, or sit on the beach n talk— for hrs. Lots of laughin, lots of cryin— sh*t got deep a lot. . #Talkingstories of the past, #plansforthefuture. Neither sure about where we were goin or what we’d be doin. We just knew we were happy where we were, #onthebeach, at that moment, w/o another person for miles around. Ya, we was that secluded . Then my contract was over— and we knew her’s wasn’t. . We sat at a local pizza joint the night before I left. Spent all day together floatin waves, n the convo over pizza was as it was all day— until it wasn’t. . Her eyes started to tear up, and I realized it just hit us both. She grabbed my hands on the table and told me I’d been her best friend there, and didn’t want to see me go. She cried, while I tried to keep it together. It was a pivotal point in my life, first time traveling—being away from the family I’d seen nearly every day until I left for that contract. . Ridin to the airport w/ a few sandy suitcases and a mean-ass tan, I sh*t you not Spotify shuffled to Gryffin – “Heading Home,” which was timely and poetic, but not shocking, if you know the magic of the islands. . My buddy drivin looked over n asked, “You ready to get off this rock?”— I said, “F*** ya dude.” Which was true, cause I was ready to leave there. . But what I wasn’t ready to leave, was him— I wasn’t ready to leave her— or any other person I met on that assignment. . So if you’re on the fence about traveling, scared to stray away from what you’re so used to. Consider saying what I said: “F*** it. I’m going.” . Cause that pic up there is just a snapshot of the moment of the minutes of the hours of the days of the months I spent “getting out of my comfort zone.” . Growing, healing, connecting, and becoming.

I remember this exact moment. Quiet contemplation while being gently overwhelmed by the beauty of the Andes mountains that embraced me. I remember saying to myself “these are the moments I want to collect throughout my lifetime.” The moments of pure clarity & inexplicable peace, where you see everything for what it truly is, which is love. 2019 is coming in hot with some BIG plans, filled with adventure & love and I’m so grateful for it already #travelnurseadventures
