Here’s my trailer review. I thought it was really really good, however one thing makes me a little nervous. I’ll touch upon that at the end. So for now, the positives. Firstly Scar. He just looks awesome. Extremely terrifying and detailed. He looks very worn down and scrawny, and really gives off the feel of a real villain. I think Chiwetel sounds good with him as well. It’ll take some time to get used to since we are so used to hearing Irons, but he still sounds very good. Not disappointed about that in the slightest. Hyenas look phenomenal as well. Next is Mufasa. I’m sorry but the way his mane just moves in the wind. It’s incredible. Something like that is so small of a detail, yet it gives me chills. The quote that he delivers, “While others search for what they can take, a true king searches for what he can give.” That’s so real, and it hits me. Mufasa would be a great President. Also at the end with Billy and Seth singing, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”. I die everytime I watch that. If I didn’t know they were playing Timon and Pumba, I would’ve thought that was Ernie Sabella and Nathan Lane. They’re going to knock those roles out of the park and they will be hilarious. Also something I picked up. If you look closely at Simba, Timon, and Pumba when they are log walking in the Hakuna Matata scene, you can see their mouths moving(probably saying Hakuna Matata). I loved Hans Zimmer’s score being reprised. Sounds incredible! Rafiki looks awesome! Adult Simba and Adult Nala look great! Those are the main things that stuck out. Now for the negative. This trailer seemed very inconsistent in regards to the effects. Some of the scenes looked incredible, and just about finished, however some scenes looked very unfinished. For example, the scene with Scar and the lionesses looks very computer generated(at 1:17). And it wasn’t like it needed some fine tuning. Like the scene with Scar and the lionesses looks like it could really use some work and perfecting. It is worth noting that the film is not finished yet! It won’t be for sometime. It is still in post-production which is where all of the imperfections will be perfected. *Continued in comments
