When I say we are reviewing, I mean it! I teach 7th grade Life Science...BUT many of my students do not get 6th grade content. Why? Oh just because we don’t test for science in VA until grade 8. Meaning, many schools ignore science because they focus on what is tested NOW. As a result, these kids have to cram as much science as possible in 2 years, remember it all, and then get tested for three years of content in one test. Talk about a headache. Sooo! We are doing our best to help these kids out. . . Whiteboard illustrations such as this lava lamp are perfect to accentuate new and old lessons. They are also great along with anchor charts (regardless of the unit that’s up there) because it keeps the kids fresh! To review I like to use a mini lesson followed by review games such as KaHoot. KaHoot is preferable in this situation as it allows us to stop and discuss things when there are many incorrect responses. . .
