s i s t e r s | It would have been a crying shame if we didn’t swing by good ol’ DC to say hey to the grandest present Japan has ever given the United States. I know, I know. We’ll see cherry blossoms when we live there, but there’s no denying the specialness of these sakura blooms hugging the Tidal Basin. Plus, these little born-in-Japan Americans are pretty cute among them too.

We made it I’m not sure how, but we did it . ➰I punched mattresses ➰I cried all alone in urgent care with my sick little girl ➰I peed my pants in a PackNSave parking lot because my coughing fits were apocalyptic and my pelvic floor was tired ➰I yelled at my daughter ➰I hung up on my parents ➰ I was so, so bloody sick, 24 weeks pregnant and all alone in a foreign country . And amongst all that, I still kept my head above water, my daughter looked after, loved and well-fed . I never, ever want to go to that place again . I learned quite a few things about myself over the last 5 days . ➰I'm an incredibly patient mum, until I’m not ➰Yelling at your kids will never make you feel better, only way worse ➰I take things personally way more than I would like to ➰I really appreciate people taking the time to check in on me, even when there hasn’t been a cry for help ➰I never give myself credit for doing a good job ➰ I'm more resourceful and resilient than I thought #strongasamother
