Today marks a year since teaching my first yoga class & deciding to slowly exit my finance career to follow my passion to teach yoga. Here’s what I’ve learned: . 1️⃣ family & friends don’t have to always agree with you - listen to their advice & cherish it but make your own decisions as it relates to your career & life❣️ . 2️⃣ don’t let fear of failure hold you back - instead ask yourself what the worst thing is that can happen (I’ve found that usually it’s not all that bad ‍♀️) . 3️⃣ you can live fine off less income - reducing expenses takes sacrifices but it’s worth it if it allows you to do more of what you love and less of what you do not . 4️⃣ you can be a beginner again - it’s scary to try something new (and mistakes will be made) but this is how we grow . . 5️⃣ you can accomplish a lot in a year - break your big goal down into small steps & keep doing those small steps everyday . 6️⃣ progress isn’t always linear - don’t let setbacks get you down for too long or, worse, stop you . 7️⃣ focus on improving yourself vs. comparing yourself to others - the latter is a waste of time ⏳ . 8️⃣ patience is crucial - things certainly don’t happen overnight so trust the process . 9️⃣ speaking of trust, TRUST YOURSELF (why is this so f-ing hard?) - our intuition is there for a reason (also, we are capable!) . when you do what you love, it doesn’t feel like work - if you haven’t found what you love yet, don’t stop searching . . I felt extremely lost and unfulfilled through a good part of my 20’s and definitely don’t have it all figured out now BY ANY MEANS but reading stuff like this always helped me keep my head up and helped me not settle for a career I always knew wasn’t right for me. Do not settle and keep making changes until you find what’s right for you ✌️❤️

And then it happens. One day you wake up and you’re in this place. In this place where, even if it’s not where you thought you’d be, it feels right. You’re heart is calm. You’re Soul is lit. You’re thoughts are positive. But there’s a peace. A peace with where you’ve been, a peace with what you’ve been through and a peace with where you’re headed. And even on those parking ticket days/weekly‍♀️‍♀️or when your dog ’s in the middle of the promenade w no doggy bag, your makeup kit (aka livelihood) gets stolen, you study your out for the role “perfect for me” and ALMOST get it... OR look down & remember how much easier life could be with 2 hands. I find the place. Where every single thing I GET TO do tells me to stay. The place I must nourish to know exists. A place of peace. Where everything I see, good or bad, tells me a story; I know I’ve carried my own pain, trauma, truth thus far, so yea, I’ll be ok. This life is pretty wild, but amidst it all I hope you find your place...find your #Peace . #Happiness , truly a #stateofmind . #chosehappy #peacewithin #lifeswork ~ #believeandbecome xx
