1/72 VF-25S Armored Messiah Valkyrie; Ozma Lee Custom - I know, yet another non-Gundam post, pretty soon I will have to change the name of my instagram. Ok next one is definitely going to be Gundam. Anyway back to this, I came across this kit on my travel to Japan a few months back and just found the time to assemble it. The Macross design has been a favourite of mine since I was a kid, I know long time ago. The transforming fighters called Valkyrie is based on the F-14 Tomcat fighter jet which in the 80s was itself an engineering marvel with its transformable wings, this was before Transformers were a thing. Watching it take shape brings a smile to my face and tons of sweat assembling it. Watched my first Macross show ever after a decade of buying Macross toys. It’s amazing what a good bit of fiction does to attach you to a toy. In this case, the YF-19 Isamu. It’s not a colour scheme I ever liked and as much as I was aware of the toy I never had been interested in this version because of the colours. I got the Yamato black and gold originally but that’s a loose bot. Having watched Macross Plus now I’m absolutely in love with this fighter and colours so much that this is only 10 of 134 pics I’ve finished up with . I took more than 400 shots across 3 sunsets.
