@LaMer is one of those brands that’s always had a whole lot of intrigue about it. I mean, even newspapers have written articles comparing Creme de La Mer to supposed dupes. Yet, the brand still flourishes and the mystique never seems to die. After using my first La Mer product a couple of years ago, I got the hype and I understood why the brand has existed and survived for so long. Yes it is luxury skincare, do you EVER need to spend this much money on your skin? Definitely not. However, there’s something ritualistic about luxury that to me takes skincare to the next level and makes it feel more like self-care. I wanted to do a post dedicated to a brand that has painted as much mystery as the Bermuda Triangle. If you want to try just one thing from this brand, make it The Treatment Lotion. This essence is unlike anything else I’ve ever used before, this is my second bottle and I doubt I’ll ever be without. It hydrates, prepares and soothes in a way no other product ever has for me. Today’s makeup ✨ @revlonanz Candid Foundation was what I was wearing in my stories yesterday as well if you were following along. I picked it up last week and I’m impressed. It’s quite dewy, medium coverage and wears really well. I wore it today with @hudabeautyshop complexion perfection primer and set my t-zone with the new @meccacosmetica soft focus finishing powder which helped to minimise the end of the day shine. For cheeks I used the highlighting powder and bronzing duo from @bobbibrownaustralia Summer Glow collection which I honestly can’t get enough of. The bronzing duo just gives the most perfect healthy glow to my cheeks that is most welcome in this dreary Melbourne weather. I’m getting good wear out of this beautiful new @hourglasscosmetics lipgloss. I’ve had a few people ask me recently the best way to handle the transition to Winter. I find that switching seasons dramatically is one of the most stressful things our skin has to go through and it’s most definitely when we notice the most dullness, flakiness and irritation. So to make it easy, I’m sharing my top three tips on how to handle this transition with grace! 1. If you’re using a foaming cleanser - STOP! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, cleansing is the harshest step of any skincare routine and using a foaming cleanser just makes it worse. I’ve been loving the cult-classic @eve_lom cleanser recently. It’s a rich balm, that’s definitely ritualistic in its application, but it thoroughly removes SPF, dirt, makeup and pollution from the skin without stripping. My skin feels noticeably softer after using. 2. Load up on a good hydration serum. This may sound like an obvious step, but sometimes we forget to change out key parts of our routine. I’ve talked to the heavens about my love for @biologiserum, and their Bf Hydration Serum* is one of my favourites. It’s multi-use (can be used on the face and body) is incredibly hydrating, and soothing, and contains a nice amount of Vitamin C. Swap out your foundation for a tinted moisturiser and your powders for creams. This is the most effortless way to ensure you can fake a good skin day. Tinted moisturisers and cream bronzes, blushes, highlights and eyeshadows are more emollient in nature. This will add to the hydration factor and look more effortless and glowing. @chantecaille Just Skin has been my recent Tinted Moisturiser pick, and I’ve been loving every @westmanatelier.
