It’s Sunny Saturday! . Sweet Sundance inspires us with his resiliency. Before he came to IFS, Sunny was facing slaughter because of a “bad leg.” One of our compassionate supporters negotiated his surrender-- the farmers were actually delighted that IFS exists, and that we could help him! . We learned that the problem with Sundance’s leg was due to an infection, and after careful consideration, the incredible team at the ISU Large Animal Hospital amputated his septic leg. . Today, Sunny moves around with ease. He keeps up with the rest of our goat residents perfectly! When we share Sunny’s story, our visitors often note that they didn’t realize he has three legs until they were told. He’s an incredible goat, we’re so thankful he’s part of our family. ♥️ . #iowafarmsanctuary #compassionliveshere

Pardon us for reminiscing... these #FlashbackFriday photos of Monkey and Marley melt our hearts! . Fun IFS Fact: Monkey and Marley were our very first residents! They were both runts of their litters, but they were liberated and spared from being killed— just because they wouldn’t reach the desired “slaughter weight” on schedule. The facility where they were bred kills thousands of baby pigs each week. . We wish we could tell Monkey and Marley’s story to the 23 million other pigs being exploited for their flesh in Iowa. Just to give them a glimmer of hope. All pigs deserve the lives Monkey and Marley lead now, full of compassion and comfort. That’s the world we strive for. . We’re so thankful for these two very special pigs, they started our rescue journey. . #iowafarmsanctuary #compassionliveshere
