Cold brew for Kate KATE! ☕️ . I swear every time I go to Starbucks I clearly say “PAIGE” and it always turns out to be Kate written on my cup! . Happy Saturday y’all! All of this is true except for lighting the $5 bill on , because let’s be real I’m all about saving that money honey! . And yes, one of the things I personally do to save is make coffee at home most days because I’m good with my Kuerig coffee...but I always hate when I hear people say “you should give up your coffee out... it’s a waste of money.” . That’s not the point of a budget or managing your finances in a way that best serves you! You make your daily drink at home every day to save money? Awesome! You want to get that coffee at Starbucks everyday? Great! Just make sure that it’s in the budget and you have a clear understanding of what that cost is causing you to sacrifice! Maybe you cut back in another categories like eating out, clothes, travel or entertainment because they aren’t as important as your coffee (because let’s be real some days it is a non-negotiable). ☕️☕️☕️ . So, stop listening to the people who say buying coffee out is a waste of money. That is THEIR opinion. It doesn’t take priority with their money which means they think it shouldn’t with other people’s as well! But guess what.... no one gets to decide what takes priority with your money except YOU! ☺️ . Budget for it. Cut back in other areas so your goals don’t suffer, and GET. YO. COFFEE. GIRL. ☕️☕️☕️

I can’t be the only screaming “HOOOWWWWW!?!?” at my TV while watching House Hunters.... right!? . You see these people on TV, shopping for homes in the MILLIONS of dollars who seem like everyday people with average paying jobs and you just think HOW in the world are they doing it!? ‍♀️ . Anyone been through the home buying process? If you have... were you SHOCKED at the amount of home the bank approved you for? I remember when we bought our first home in Michigan and we got our pre-approval I said to Ryan “they approved us for HOW MUCH!?”. It was close to $200,000 over what we ended up paying for our first home. . Our home in Houston? We were approved to go up an extra $400,000 in price if we had wanted to above what we actually ended up buying. . I’m not a believer that everyone needs to abide by black and white rules about keeping your mortgage under a certain percentage of your income at a certain term. There are SO many factors including your income, debt, other expenses, area of the country that make the sweet spot different for each person and family. Instead of molding your life to fit a broad and general rule, I’m a big fan of critically assessing your unique situation and asking “what makes the most sense for me but is still financially responsible?”. . BUT. What I will tell you is this. Just because the bank approves you up to a certain amount, does not mean you have to buy that much home. Those people on House Hunters? Probably going to the MAX of what the bank tells them they can afford. Remember.... the bank is making money off of you. The more home you buy, the more interest you’ll pay and the more money they make of you and your home purchase. SO, if you’re going through the home buying process soon... SLOW DOWN. Take a look at what makes the most sense for your life and financial situation and stick with that plan, even if you’re approved for more! . Did you use all you were approved for or stay under?

(And yes I cringed as I wrote that) Nah, we just allow Pride to stand in the way because it’s the easy way to not acknowledge how faulted we are. . His grace... Not only are we SAVED continuously by His Grace.. but it is given FREELY to HELP us be better when we are not! . “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 . Y’all ... I AM WEAK! But I am perfectly fine with that. Know that His POWER is made PERFECT in my weakness. . I never have to do it alone... And neither do you

Hi. Confession. I’ve been pretty quiet on here & the blog because I’ve been going through a complete FUNK.
