It’s a pull out the big guns kind of day! . First response, pray. . Second, ask others to pray. . Third, get those oils working. . That’s what you do when your girl calls to tell you the check engine light is on and she’s supposed to be driving all week for work and hubs is out of town with the other car. . So far, I’m calm. So far, the dealer is kind to fit us in and get me a loaner car. So far, the peace of God is washing all over me and once again I realize (1) how much He’s transformed my entire countenance and (2) the awesome of being an entrepreneur who doesn’t have to tell her boss she has to leave. What a blessing to be able to take my work with me! . Covet your prayers as I continue to juggle this day.

Fourteen. How did that happen to my babies? It feels like we're heading to the homestretch at a sprinters pace just when I figured out how to chill out and enjoy the journey ... aka #whitewaterrafting. Twinables, you've been a surprise gift to our family since the beginning. We all love watching you become your own . . . as your personalities and gifts and talents burst forth, bringing us joy and laughter, gratitude and hope. . Lil Man, you ain't so little anymore. My prayer is that you will continue to become a man after God's own heart. I pray you'll always delight in serving others and finding every good way to use duct tape and cardboard to entertain yourself. . K Pie, may you continue to see God answer your prayers as you surrender your dreams to His best in His best timing. We get to watch God show off as He blesses you in ways that seem outrageous. I pray your ability to trust Him with the next steps continues to forge your faith deeper and you become more confident as the daughter of the King.

It's just crazy. To think back to this time last year when I was lamenting over my oldest getting ready to fly the nest, fretting over how life would be without her around. Wow...to be in such a different place now. Goodness change can be an odd thing, especially when there is no framework to understand what the new normal will look like. I've got a college girl and an empty seat at the table. But oh my, I had know idea the joy I'd feel seeing her launch...seeing her figure out how to survive...seeing her thrive. Today I was especially humbled and reminded that she needs so much more than just us. She needs God for herself. And to be part of a bigger family. She's found the start of that in new friends and at a small little church that is thriving -- cars parked on the front lawn and first service (ahem, 8:15 am) filled with Millennials and Gen X and Baby Boomers by 8 am just to get a seat. We had to file out a side door at the end of service because the crowd was already formed for the second service. There were no fancy lights. No big programing. Sweet worship. Solid preaching. Authentic fellowship. I know it is a grace gift. I also know it is a risk after hearing about the shooting in Texas this morning. I'm grieving for the senseless loss of life and praying for God's healing work to be underway all the while asking Him to help us not live in fear. God, be our strong foundation. Be our courage. Use us in your healing work. Pour your love into us that we may pour forth everywhere.
