Go on a day trip, they said. It’ll be fun, they said. 2 hours in to what should’ve been a 1.5 hour drive, we pulled over and strongly considered turning around. All four children screaming. Still so far to go. Definitely not the idyllic Canada Day family adventure we’d imagined. But we made it. Was it worth it? Eh... next time we’ll probably stick closer to home.

SIMPLE THINGS MAKING US HAPPY - What little things in your daily life make you happy? We had a weekend away in London. Grumpy Boyfriend had a meeting in town on Monday morning, so I was on duty to entertain Baba. As we stayed at the @beautifulpullmanlondonstpancras, I searched for a playground and walked there. To my surprise, I arrived in the area where I used to study at uni 9 years ago! The place has not changed much but it was so unexpected it brought back a lot of memories! But not only... It also made me realise how far we have come with Grumpy Boyfriend... I met him around the time I was applying for university and I remembered him texting me when I was shopping in that same area 9 years ago! I am always looking for new things to make me happy. I wanted a boyfriend, then a baby and then a house. All done! In less than 10 years. And yet, there are still times when I look around and I want more... Ask Grumpy Boyfriend, I am an eternal unsatisfied cow I thought a lot about it and how we always want more, especially material things. We are programmed to think like that. But the truth is little things can also make us happy. And that smile on Baba's face, while we visited our local fire station, is one of those moments At the end of the day, I need to enjoy more little things. And also try to make others around me happy.
