I am so in love with this corner

Through the keyhole shot today whilst I patiently await the pink chandelier of dreams from @threeboysandapinkbath . If you saw my stories yesterday you will have seen the greasy handprints of my toddler on the newly painted kitchen wall. So we’ve painted probably 80% of the downstairs in the same, well known brands black paint. Yeah, let’s paint it all black it won’t show any of the mess then. WRONG mate, black is the most unforgiving colour for any kind of human or inhuman stains, spillages, accidents or otherwise. I won’t even start on the carpet in this photo, I only have to walk on it and it needs hoovering, and the black kitchen?!? Oh my gosh, the kids look at it and it’s smeared with lines. Soooo think long and hard about this decision, I’m saying all this but I’d do it again as I black, forevs! Buuuut it’s like having another dependant to look after keeping it looking fresh with kids about... be warned! Let’s hope the weather is wrong it continues shining ☀️ ~ ~ So last night I went to a lovely event at @monamieliving I’d never had the chance to get over there to have a look before, I’ve heard so many wonderful things about it, so I decided to go along. I was invited by the very talented @tipperleyhill Who are beautiful creators of floral art work. They were having a show case evening, I’ve followed them for a while now, so wanted to see the pictures in real life. I met the lovely Louise & Julie who own @monamieliving And had a good old natter, I learnt so much about what they have to offer. Apart from flowers, home decor products, faux flowers, Annie Sloane paint etc they also do worshops, and talks on Tuesday mornings. Plus they run several different types of shopping events throughout the year. The two ladies were an inspiration to talk to and learn more about. I know I had a reason but I can’t remember why I didn’t paint the chimney breast when the rest of the room went dark last year. - It might have been fear, not committing fully to the dark walls or trying not to make the fireplace stand out all the more. ‍♀️ - Now it’s done I love it and I’m so glad I went grey over green. Although there is much faffing to be done with my @clasohlsonuk table hanger rack, I am loving the green against the grey. More greenery supplies are en route I’m off to meet a friend for some Interiors shopping, looks like it going to be glorious weather. I love being a co-host for #greathomestaketime because our hashtag really is true, and this bathroom is a great example! My husband @lilmitchied tore out the old oak sink vanity and turned this cute little mid-mod nightstand into our new sink instead. He had to redo all of the plumbing in order to have these antiqued gold light fixtures THAT I JUST HAD TO HAVE come out of the wall. He also hung new lighting and a new mirror, painted the walls my beloved restless sea blue, tore out the vinyl flooring to install the new wood laminate floor, and hung this crazy wall mural for me! And, last but not least he drew all of the pencil sketches that hang in this room for me...except the one of Gustav Klimt, of course-that’s by Egon Schiele. Great homes really do take time!
