Happy Monday!! Finally it’s the last outing of that blossom... it’s so gorgeous I’m milking it good and proper! So once again the themes of my two favourite daily prompt accounts Nocturnal and Square line up like the Sun in Scorpio ( I don’t believe in that btw... I’m an astronomer not an astrologer ) So here is my favourite square.. the view into the outdoor room which absolutely comes into its own at night. On chillier nights when we eat in the dining room we like to light it up so we can sit and hanker for those warm, balmy evenings . In Summer we spend time out there putting the world to right, drinking wine , listening to our favourite tunes. I can’t tell you how much I love it. We stay up so late as we forget the time. Now our nights usually end around 9.30 - Zebedee time in the chilly evenings! I feel like I hibernate in winter! I went to @abigailahern design school a few months ago (which I really enjoyed) & one of the key things I brought back was layering & textures & more is more . So I thought I kind of got all that before but until I was actually in her home I didn’t realise just how far you can push it for maximum WOW factor .... so I’ve added one more rug to the lounge (a rug I didn’t think I needed) and phwoar it’s finished the space off totally . And let’s face it we need all the under floor heating we can get in this weather don’t we ?! What a fab weekend. Kilim rugs....love or not? I've been after a rug to brighten up this space for yonks, blues and pinks to soften the brown tinge that controls this space at the moment. A need for decorating still looms but for now, as always, I have to make do and mend. Sourcing is a great passion of mine and the benefits are that it throws up goodies such as this antique rug. I never turn anything down, I look at everything and buy to store if not sure. Shpock to gum tree, eBay to the classifieds, local Facebook sites to market place, word of mouth and local shop windows. Insta has amazing antique and vintage sellers and it's great finding that perfect account which has everything you want. @foundandcharity is 1 such account for antique and vintage.. @vintagehoarders is another. .it's all there just waiting to be found, reloved and reused. The birthday party was a blast in Greensboro. Fun seeing old friends and meeting new ones, too. I did a little shelf styling this morning as my “payment” for my friend letting my whole family crash at their house. Thankfully my children only woke me and the hubs up at 5am and not the whole house! Tomorrow starts the first day of Spring Break. I’m still reeling at how fast this school year has flown by! In other news, I got a new lamp for the playroom and I love the cozy glow that peers through into the living room especially at this twilight time of day.
