Coming into L-sit from handstand is one of my favorite transitions. Can’t get enough of it⠀⠀
I’m always talking about “squeezing belly “ here. Yep, it’s the truth. It’s also very good if you can engage your legs and press your thigh towards your chest going down from handstand into L-sit. First point toes, then flex the feet just before you are coming through your hands. ⠀⠀
Try it!! The only thing that can happen during going down is that you get stuck with your feet between the hands, nothing else ⠀⠀

I’m generally hard-pressed to find someone who *doesn’t* love the feel of this reclined spinal twist flow It’s a great way to begin warming up the upper body for more movement to come with some thoracic spine rotation & upper limb reaching, and it’s also a nice option for cooling down toward the end of a yoga practice.

The truth is that you can probably insert this move anytime in a yoga class and I bet your students will be happy!
.
Start in a reclined twist position with your arms wide in a T and your legs off to the right. (You can of course start with your legs left too heh heh, but I’m choosing right to stay consistent with the video)
.
Look at your left hand and continue to watch that hand as you think of sliding it in a straight horizontal line across your body until it meets your right palm.
.
As your hand slides across your body, you’ll feel that arm tug on your shoulder blade, which will tug on your spine and naturally roll you over onto your side. See if your head can rotate to look to the right as a natural *result* of this action - rather than jumping into the game and rotating before it needs to. (If you know what I mean!)

Once you’re on your side and your palms are stacked, continue sliding your top palm forward and off your bottom palm, allowing that action to pull your spine a little further.
.
Now think of making a “rainbow” with your top arm as you arc it up and over your head. Allow your head to naturally roll along with the movement until you are once again looking left and back in your original spinal twist with T arms.

Repeat several times and then try the other side. I hope you enjoy this gentle & potent-feeling rotation & reaching work!
