I don’t want to tell you those words don’t matter, but if you’re the client those words don’t matter for you. WHY? Because every head of hair is unique and there could be a hundred different ways to get to your desired look. When I’m deciding on placement (where the lightener and foils will go on your hair) and technique (how the lightener and foils will be applied), I’m taking into consideration: • your color history - have you colored your hair in the past? How long ago was it? And was it in a salon or at home? Be honest here!! (And did you know that color never washes out of your hair? So even if you think it’s all faded, the molecules are still there until you cut them off!) • your hair health and texture - how coarse or fine is your hair? Are you recovering from chemical damage? How much lightening can your hair handle and still maintain its strength? • your home care and style routine - do you use heat on your hair? Do you curl or straighten? Do you love to treat your hair or do you prefer a minimal routine? I need to know ALL of this before I can create a plan for your color. The process is very similar to a blonde balayage service - her hair still had to be lightened past the dreaded orange stage. I see stuff from other people all the time and I’m like omg howww did they do that Then every so often I step back and admire my own work too and I’m like hot damn that’s good I shoot with natural light + ring light every time and this time was super hard to photograph because this color is so freakin vibrant! I used @evohair Staino Instense Direct Dyes in Flame, Ruby Lime and Neon Yellow for this creation. These shades last up to 50 shampoos and fade incredibly true to tone. This babe has some serious MERMAID HAIR! I'm not even kidding, she has at least three people's worth of hair.
