As I sit here and drink my morning coffee, ☕️ I think about when I want to try and quit caffeine and make better choices for when we move forward with trying again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But thinking about that honestly pisses me off. I find it unfair that I constantly have to worry about what I’m putting in my body, on my body, around my body, you get the point. Truthfully, does any of this stuff matter? Will it help me become more fertile or carry a pregnancy past 6 weeks? Who knows. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Before the first pregnancy, I was pretty healthy. I ate well, drank tons of water, took care of myself, but now I’m 10 pounds heavier and I’m heavier because I keep punishing my body for failing me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But who REALLY loses in this? Always me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Punishing my body with caffeine and junk food is really just punishing me, my mental health, my physical health, my fertility. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While we have been on this break I’ve gotten to live my “old” life again (kind of). I’ve had two large coffees a day if I felt like it, I had whatever sounded good on the menu at any restaurant, I’ve not taken my vitamins because what does it even matter right now? I’ve not used my fertility tracking app. I’ve literally just been LIVING and while it’s been nice, I want to be done punishing my body. I’m tired of fighting with it, being angry at it, I just want to move forward and maybe even forgive it for failing me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s exhausting to wonder if caffeine is the reason my body isn’t working, or if gluten is the reason why, or dairy, or soy, or x. Honestly, it seems like there isn’t much that IS GOOD for our fertility at this point. And if I make better choices and still get nowhere, I’ll just end up mad at my body again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As I post this, it’s 11:11 a.m. in North Carolina and my wish is that I will stop caring about all of this crap and just live my life, get pregnant, have a healthy baby and go on with life. I mean, is that too much to ask for? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, Aunt Flo is due within the next few days so I’m sure it’s my raging hormones making me this bitter. ‍♀️ Happy Friday my fertility friends!
