WE ARE ON FIRE FOR GOD! ⁣ ⁣ We start to experience joy in going to church & being around other Jesus followers. ⁣ ⁣ We start to DESIRE OBEDIENCE, wanting GOD’S WILL for us -  it becomes important to us. ⁣ ⁣ Our DESIRES are then expressed to God through our prayers & conversations with Him. ⁣ ⁣ When God is our number one PRIORITY in our life, we have TRULY GIVEN OUR LIFE TO HIM and we no longer are living for ourselves but we are living for Christ. ⁣ ⁣ Our values, way of living & character change - we start to become Christ-like.⁣ ⁣ Many times when this happens we see a difference in who we hang around, our friends and family being to see we have changed & they either like it or they are uncomfortable with it. ⁣ ⁣ Don’t be discouraged if they don’t like it. Remember 1 Peter 4:14 says “be happy when you are insulted for being a Christian, for then the glorious spirit of God rests upon you” - YOU ARE TRULY SHINING BRIGHT - FOR GOD'S LIGHT IS SHINING THROUGH YOU!⁣ ⁣ Easier said right?! The enemy will try his hardest to change your heart's DESIRES. But when we TRULY DESIRE GOD, we begin to understand what it means when we must lose our life to gain it. (Matt 10:39) - Sometimes that means distancing ourselves from certain relationships or “worldly” living.⁣ ⁣ As we become spiritually mature we understand distancing ourselves doesn’t mean forever. In the society we live in today, we’ve inherited a nasty habit of putting ourselves first. We give ourselves false direction and false purpose when we throw around mottos like “YOLO” and “Do what makes YOU happy.” We’ve lost sight of who we are and why we were created in the first place. We should position our hearts to chase after God the way that this verse describes. We should DESIRE just His name and memory alone. We should hunger for more of God so much so that our soul and spirit longs for Him day and night! It’s so sad to see how backwards we have it today. We take care of everything we “need” to before we spend time with God...IF we have the time right? You wanna know the truth? This may be why life seems so hard right now, this is why it feels overwhelming. What do you think would happen if our entire focus, your number one priority was God? I honestly think that things would start falling into place. When our hearts and minds are immersed in God and connected to Him, our perspective on the priorities of this life would change. The worldly things that we once found important, will no longer be a priority. Instead of seeing a relationship with God as something that we need to have in order for our life to go smoothly, we should instead cherish and know how blessed we are to be able to have a personal, intimate relationship with our God!

In your own understanding you’re trying to figure it out and God is saying lean not on your own understanding but to trust in Him. He just wants us to take delight in Him, acknowledge Him and He will most certainly direct your path.
