As autumn quickly settles in bringing with it cool nights and falling leaves, we also feel a change of pace and direction with our learning. Our seasonal display is up and I am busy planning our autumn themed activities for the season. Our dear baby linen closet has been retired from it's former duties and now is a storage space for our learning resources and Art supplies. We are slowly finding structure in what we do with our days. I continue to feel out what it is the boys are needing and wanting me to provide for them, which is ever changing. With heavy interests in nature and world around us we are slowly finding our way moving towards a very waldorf inspired home and learning environment. We have now been screen free during the week for two weeks now and it has been a refreshing and welcoming change in our home. Weekends being the exception however after a slow morning of cartoons, off they go, by choice, back outside. I am currently seeking natural and educational learning resources. That the boys can help themselves to in free play time. I recently purchased two big baskets from the opshop. I plan to use one as a busy basket and one as a basket full of tools to be used for slow and mindful practice, During after lunch meditation or when our feelings seem bigger than big. I have my eye on a few items and will be slowly purchasing them as I can afford to do so. If you have anything in mind you think we may enjoy please, your suggestions are welcome. I also wanted to mention that initially I was reluctant about sharing images of our play space. My only intention is to inspire and be inspired. Our play space has evolved slowly over the span of four years, slowly collecting wooden toys for special occasions. As I have shared, my students have been working on a huge Chihuly inquiry unit! As a part of this student-led project, they have been designing five art pieces inspired by pieces created by Chihuly. SPQR Siamo l'unica città che condivide con Roma la sigla SPQR. Secondo noi, uno stemma così bello dovrebbe esser ovunque, dovrebbe esser il segno distintivo dei nostri spazi pubblici, dovrebbe campeggiare all'uscita dell'autostrada, nelle stazioni, sulle fermate degli autobus, sui mezzi del comune. Ed invece il nostro stemma è stato segregato lassù, in alto sul Municipio. Trascurato ed umiliato perché qualcuno si è inventato "la città delle persone", probabilmente senza sapere che le persone erano già comprese nel motto Senatus PopolusQue Regiensis che significa il Senato ed il Popolo Reggiano. Quindi da un concetto alto ed ampio si è passati ad un'inutile e ristretta ripetizione. ALPHABETS NATURELS ☘️. Jeudi et vendredi nous avons réalisé avec les enfants un alphabet majuscule et un alphabet scripte en utilisant divers matériaux naturels (noix feuilles bâtons maïs cailloux mousse etc. ) puis j’ai photographié et imprimé le résultat. Nous aurons ainsi un jeu plastifié mais je compte aussi réalisé 1 porte vues pour chaque alphabet en imprimant la photo en format 1/2 A4 que les enfants rapporteront à tout de rôle à la maison pour les présenter à leur famille et revoir au passage leurs alphabets je me suis inspirée du compte @earlyyearsoutdoor et compte réaliser aussi les nombres de 1-20 !!! Happy April! Each month I switch out our nature table with new posters, books, and other misc items for my boys to explore and this month is flower & bee themed!
