Quick post to show you what my upcoming projects are! I posted these in my story the other day, but thought I’d put there here too :> I made one of these posts not to long ago, but I’ve sense made three of the five costumes on that list haha Reynir and Finrod are still on here! I’ve slowly been gathering materials for Reynir and Finrod is undergoing some design changes, but both will be getting actual progress soon! Next is a female Thorin with my friend as a female bilbo! I don’t need this until holmat in December, I want to work on it early. Lastly is Hiccup! I’m debating regular and female hiccup, but I think I’m leaning towards a fem! Version. I want to do HTTYD 2 hiccup soon (and wear it to holmat) and hopefully find some good HTTYD 3 reference photos to do that hiccup for Katsu! Not to exciting, but here’s some Reynir progress! Second photo shows the details better! I’ve sculpted out a ton of little Nordic talismans to use as the silver discs all over his outfit. This character is an Icelandic mages so I thought this would be a nice touch :> I’ve noticed in the comics there’s somethings the indication of some design on them, but I have no idea what it is lol so I looked up a lot of Icelandic runes and went ham making talismans! I’ve molded these so I can cast them in resin (such as the silver ones that are all done). Reynir for today’s post! I did do a fun shoot for him, but mirror selfies are always good right I’ve been eyeing some fabric for Sigrun! I’ll likely start on her after fanime! We’re in a chapter break now ahhh ;0; I’d really love to cosplay SSSS with others sometime, but Id doubt that would happen haha! I redid all of the weaving on Reynir's sleeves, but now it matches much better with the weave on the rest of the jacket! Since the design is so vague and inconsistent in the comic, I basically just designed a pattern that seemed practical, pretty and "close enough". I wove the sleeves first, but then I decided to change some aspects of my pattern on the rest of my jacket. Wanna see the coolest thing about #huckweaving ? It's completely clean on the underside! This is because the design is done by picking up "floating" threads rather than by penetrating fabric! Huck weaving is traditionally done on Huck cloth or Monk's cloth, but for my purpose I have to use this knit fabric! Since it still has a "floating" weave I can still make it work!
