When you finally realise how bad things were it gives you a new found appreciation for the journey you have been on and all the changes you have made, yes! The physical changes are incredible but it's the changes in behaviour, negative thoughts, comfort eating, hiding away from reality, depression, anxiety, trauma, making excuses not to engage in social events, trying to be the funny fat person, addiction and all that came with being so obese and my life hanging by a thread. I'm now genuinely happy and have overcome so much in the last 12 months but it's a journey not a magic pill and I'm still working every day at improving my health, mind, relationships & addictions. A different kind of #transformationtuesday! It’s not lost on me that I looked more pregnant before than I do now.. actually pregnant! SO mind blowing to see the difference side-by-side. Somehow, we’re 30 weeks today with that perfect, growing little girl who’s making me the luckiest, happiest mama! We’re both doing well- healthy, happy & thriving. Besides the normal aches & pains, I’m just so immensely grateful for a normal, healthy, happy pregnancy on the other side of WLS and so thankful for this body that has overcome so much as we fought and won the battle over super morbid obesity together. Y’all, once upon a time, I had a BMI well over 60. I could never keep off a 20 lb loss, let alone 185 lbs and I sure as the world just never thought my and our dreams of getting pregnant would ever come true with the condition of my health, my body etc. But here we are, doing all the things! And my heart could literally burst. It didn’t happen over night and it sure wasn’t the easy way out. It was hard and it forever changed me as I got to finally LIVE my life- a life I could be proud of. A life filled with so much joy. Happy Tuesday, friends! If I can do this, so can you. ❤️
