Some Upper Contrast Strength Work into Maximum Sustained Power (MSP) For any Endurance Athlete out there, think about incorporating this into your plan — In races and training, the performance limiter is muscular fatigue or central nervous system fatigue which comes from the muscles being overwhelmed from being repeatedly stimulated to maintain a certain power output for a set duration. MSP training, created by innovative coach Jacques DeVore fatigues this system quicker by placing a similar load (however in a different way) without the endurance athlete having to run 35km to simulate what it is like to ‘hit the wall’ in a marathon. MSP workouts will produce a high level of fatigue and teach the body to continue to deliver a high level of force and power even in a fatigued state. This, in turn, will help to limit the breakdown of your form and power into the late stages of a race. — A) Work to heavy 3rm Close Grip SwissBar Bench Press *follow each round with 5x banded plyo push up + 3x med ball chest pass — B) MSP Lat Pull Down NG - 3min clock, start with a heavy 5-6rm or 80%, rest :15 and repeat for 3min, aiming for reps to be between 15-25 (added in rev lunges to increase the Lacate Buffering Capacity) ** repeat protocol with BENCH PULL I find MSP has its greatest benefits using the Trap Bar DL / Hip Thrust / Sandbag FSQ for runners — #betterthanyesterday

On the board today over three sessions . ⚡️Vo2 Max Testing - 71 ⚡️Altitude Chamber aerobic work mixed in with bouldering / weighted pull ups / grip work / 10-100 test (25reps) ⚡️Mile TT on heavy legs (4:55) into stadium plyo + 200m efforts (best of 3 repeats, video of quinton handing it to me on the final round, lucky I got him on the first two . 10/100: 1 rep = 10sec hang + 1 pull up, no dropping off the bar . Day 2 continues tomorrow in The mountains . #betterthanyesterday
