Our lovely shop friends @nookbrisbane posted recently that they don’t usually get too personal on this platform in preference to talking about their beautiful handmade wares. We feel very much the same; the stories that surround the products and the people behind them are so much more newsworthy than our own daily happenings (though japan was pretty fab ). • However, as we contemplate our 4th birthday, it would be untrue to say that this little business is anything but deeply personal. Every single thing that we stock has been researched and carefully selected (mostly) from artisans and small batch makers who we know and often the order is made with particular customers in mind. It is never taken for granted that someone chooses to walk through our door over another closer, easier, possibly cheaper option and we count it an incredible privilege to share in the lives of our shop community: customers and clients, suppliers and colleagues. Shop purchases are so often to mark celebrations, console losses or express love and we are truly honoured to be included in these stories. • To thank you for your support and to celebrate making it through the hairy toddler years of start up business, there will be a lucky dip gift with purchase for this our birthday week, both in store and online. This koala has been painted holding a bouquet of flowering gums, swan river daisies, and Australian rice flower. I usually love the soft pinks and warm oranges but on this one I love the pop of the blue daisies. I can’t wait to grow my collection in underglaze colours.
